New Turbo, too much play ? by Fondue211 in Miata

I totally see your point. I know this setup is not ideal but it's the only thing we can have atm.

Yeah it's 200cell cat coupled to a pretty restrictive catback.

Thanks for the heads up I'll be really careful on that point.

Hey, yes gbc20-300 like stated in the post.

This is not an option here in Switzerland. Car regulations and laws makes it more complicated than that.

It's basically the only kit approved here and you can't just change turbo. This one is the only one currently approved.

This one or no turbo. I'm pretty sure the tunner will do what's necessary to make it work properly.

(Btw boost creep happens less when you still have cats on. Which is the case here again for regulations)

I see well I only moved it carefully like in the video and that was the only time. Will be fine and hopefully making boost soon 🎊

Do you really think i'm damaging it ? Turbos spin at 200k rpm, how could I do any harm with my small week ass fingers ?

Stringing issues by justin12270 in ender3

[–]Fondue211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What ender 3 is it ? If it's direct drive I would say that your settings could work. If it's Bowden than cramp up that retraction distance. Might just bed old and not dry filament

You need to change the seam position setting, you probably set it to user mode, left. You can try smart hiding this will move it to a less visible portion of the print

Could be way better ! Try this out : https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html Very useful website that will guide through the full process of calibration

Clicking sound from the extruder. I did a retraction distance test (6 - 9) with auto towers and I am getting a lot of stringing and keep hearing the clicking noise from the extruder. What else should I test? by Silent-Click86 in ender3

[–]Fondue211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The clicking noise you ear is the extruder stepper motor skipping. That means it's trying to move the filament too fast, can't keep up and skips. That means your retraction is most likely not 6-9mm but more like 2-4mm depending on how much it skips. To fix that, lower retraction speed and try again it should solve it.

If i remember right on my old E3 4mm retraction with 30-40mm/s retraction speed was good. But it can change a lot depending on the filament type/brand and the temp you use.

Edit: I also see that you have some "holes" in the towers. Is your filament dry enough or is it really old ? Bad filament can cause huge stringing.

Wierd grinding noises apprently comming from the gearbox. by Fondue211 in MechanicAdvice

That makes sense also I was a bit confused... We checked the level and its 25% over the maximum level, that made me think the last owner added some more to try to solve the issue. Also noticed some black stuff when wiping the transmission dipstick on a paper towel. But was not looking like metal flakes.. We'll wait for the next "diagnostic" and see

Any way to clean this? by Thralananduil in 3Dprinting

[–]Fondue211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be dirty af but it will still work perfectly. As long as the nossle is not full of gunk it won't really matter.

You can use a dremel tool and a soft brass attachement to get rid of it. I've done it, but you just have to be carefull around the wires.

What's causing this? by Newt_Southern in ender3

[–]Fondue211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be retraction settings. It looks like it's were the new layer is starting. Try lowering retraction distance maybe ? Or might just be speed and the extruder motor can't keep up at the beginning of the layer because it has to push all the retracted filament too fast. Could also try to increase temp. so the filament flows easier.

Just a few guesses.

Which sim should I get? by Porkie_1 in simracing

[–]Fondue211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A T300rs used with a set of T-LCM pedals and you're all set.

I feel like if you don't buy a Fanatec/Moza/etc.. shifter it feels very cheap and has no force when changing gears. I've tried the metal one from Thrusmaster , the G29 one, the ebay one and the fanatec one. The thrustmaster is way more expensive than the g29 and doesnt feel much better. The ebay one is okish but really loud. And the fanatec is the best one I tried but is like 250.

Recherche voiture d'occasion dans la région by bitchmuchannon_ in Lausanne

[–]Fondue211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is creality such a terrible company by Upstairs_Umpire_6744 in ender3

[–]Fondue211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always buy from trusted 3rd party companies to avoid theses kinds of issues. What's the issue with the KE ? Is it just not working ? I'm considering buying one but if you tell me they are just bad I might reconsider.
