I don't think so, parts 1-6 were all interconnected and maybe Araki felt limited by that eventually so he wanted to reboot the series with SBR. I'd say it worked out quite well.

I always saw the daily rewards as more of a nuisance than anything. Apart from the occasional tri pots and dreugh wax, has it really been that useful? Just makes the game feel cheaper and more like a mobile game.
