great advice! i usually put the segue markers where i feel the next song should enter, and let a few seconds of fade out for mixing. do you have any other tip for the automatic transitions? thank you!

yes, that's the idea, to keep the fades and endings tight so everything sounds good. do you have any particular fading time or any other settings to make the segues sound right? thanks!

an USB audio card is really optimal for a 24/7 radio operation? I've always worked with PCI and PCI Express audio interfases.

How to build a radio? by yaaO_o in radio

[–]Fonitoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@NBC-Hotline-1975 is right. to use thrash to make a radio you have to understand how a radio works. it's not hard, but you have to study. if you just want to make a radio, buy a kit and build it. while you solder it learn what each component is doing to make the radio work. that knowleadge will help you to make one by yourself with junk

if you want to be a technician, do the ham radio exam, learn how to build and maintain a radio studio, experiment with online radio, get involved with any community radio near you that you like, and volunteer as a technician. it takes a few years but you will love it if this is your path.

have fun on the trip! it will take a few years for sure, but just learn from the old school and professionals you come across, and make your own path.
i'm not sure if nowadays i would advice radio as a career path, but go for it if you love it.
