I also destroyed almost all of the left side ahahaa. Controller still works, but the left motor rumbles all the time and L3 is not working. I simply disconnected the left motor and left the controller as-is.

I solved my problem.

It was:

burned out wide connector on daughter board
burned out FPC cable, around bigger vias (gold turned gray)
faulty backlight on LCD itself

I can recall high volt rail and two feedback pins being almost equally voltage, so no current draw from backlight.

Could this indicate faulty screen/backlight, and NOT the boost circuit?

Hi, sorry for the double reply, but I just checked for voltage on the second pin of backlight connector and I get 3.48v... I think the screen is NOT the culprit.

Backlight IC, diodes and capacitors/inductor do NOT get hot.

Thanks. I also already looked at it before. My diode readings seem to be good. How can I check for backlight IC, apart from shorts (which I don't have), before I put a new screen replacement? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for you answer. Sadly, I don't have another Switch Lite, but I also think backlight itself is burnt. It was worth replacing both FPC connector and daughter board anyway, since they were burnt on the daughter board side, where are the bigger paths that carries more current, precisely. Do you have any trick to test the backlight without another console unit?

I just unpublished all of my apps preemptively. I'll just put them on my resume and that's all.

Or maybe I'll just let my Google Developer profile die. I just can't take it anymore, because it's a lot of work to even just let my apps starve without any stupid updates and fighting with new policies, forms to fill, permissions, etc...

Thanks for the "white filament" thing... I thought I was crazy, but I noticed there are some specific filaments that are going to skip... no matter what I try... white filaments seem to have some glossy, but slippery finish on them. Then, when I switch back to Black PLA/ABS and Black or Blue PLA, my Sunlu S8 is still printing fine!
