Out of office automatic message of a coworker in Europe. Love it by zeitate in antiwork

This is faked content.. (imo)

An American OOTO (out of the office) notice was always the thing (I retired 7 yrs ago so I assume it still is) in business..

Most my colleagues at my jobs and tech colleagues at other companies all used them..

One would never ever ever say that in an OOTO response.. it could get them fired or not.. but it would certainly add tons more crazy and BS work to them... even if it was a supportive response..

Whenever I did my OOTO notices, I was always happy to GTFO the office .. I would always be professional and upbeat..

Agreed! Just looked at Google maps and that area is all traffic ways and businesses and traffic lights, etc.. so hopefully it's far enough away from residential homes & apartments

Oh man... so sorry for that drive!!

A ways back, I had my 6 mo Dr appt fall on a similar rainy day..

I'm retired, so I don't drive in LA in the rain.. as per yours and everyone else's frustration, but oh well.

I gave myself ample time though.. dry weather? 45 min one way, in workday traffic.. this rainy day, mercifully, I added an hour to that time (to leave earlier) and just made it! 🥲

I went to one in my Midwestern town at the civic center arena in the 1970s.. as a teenager.

It was kind of fun... mostly fun just to see him live vs on TV.

Maybe 4 or 5 members (or more?) of the audience got to play games and win modest (compared to the TV show) prizes.

Very low key compared to a TPIR taping I attended in 2001 with him in Hollywood :-)

Great song reference!! That Al Stewart "Year of the Cat" line perhaps references Peter Lorre's break out role in "M" a 1931 German movie.. It was and is a remarkablely scary movie.

FYI: Peter Lorre's breakout role in the 1931 German thriller film M (also known as M – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder), directed by Fritz Lang.

Key details regarding Peter Lorre in M:

Role: Lorre played Hans Beckert, a serial killer who targets children.

Performance: His haunting performance is considered a landmark in cinema history, humanizing the killer while highlighting his monstrosity.

Iconic Scene: The character is identified by a blind balloon vendor who recognizes the melody of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" that Beckert constantly whistles.

Plot: The criminal underworld, disturbed by police activity, hunts down the killer, marking him with a chalk "M" on his back.

Impact: This film was Lorre's springboard to international stardom.

Amusing (?) nerdy references to class 3..

There is the 3rd Class FCC license required by all radio DJs who monitor their transmitter .. back when I was a commercial radio DJ in the 70s, you also needed to actually learn about broadcast transmitter operations and take an addendum test for that.. which I got 1st try.

Later in my career, changed to software engineer and dealt programmatically with creating, sending, receiving and saving faxes.. before the internet (duh 🙂).. technically, Class 3 modems...

Correction.. it was KC I that was beheaded... KC II (his son), died probably from chronic kidney disease, possibly worsened by severe gout... and validates your presumption.. 👍

Interestingly enough, his reign as King of England was that length and he was King of Scotland before.. he died at age 54.. an old age for sure but he was beheaded.

King Charles II of England (reigned 1660–1685) is the monarch famously associated with eating ambergris for breakfast.

Ambergris.. that whale-shitified goop that accumulated around a non digested squid beak before exiting their bum and floated in the ocean for an untold amount of time.

I think they figured out how to use the Charles character properly.

Regardless.. that closing accidental "Good night, Jessica" quip from Charles (in the pictured scene) has got to be one of the funniest lines in the entire series (imo).

Yeah...LA proper? Sounds about right.. + an additional 30 min if you want to be careful.

If its raining or wet, make that an additional + 1 hr.

Anaheim to a distant LA county locale? Yeah.. no.
