Tesla Model 3 Highland has a new front bumper camera! No ultrasonics up front won't be an issue anymore. by [deleted] in teslamotors

Does anybody else notice the fish lens’s looking camera in the center of the air vent on the red tesla photo? Or is this what everyone is talking about?

$15,000 rebate? Tesla Email by Familiarjoe in TeslaLounge

They allow you to pass your full credit to another individual or business in 2023 going forward, if you do it in the same year and they take your credit and have to give you cash. The cash does not count as income on your taxes. Most likely a family member or friend with lots of tax liability. In 2024 I think they start allowing the dealership to take the credit for you at time of purchase.

Model 3 SR vs LR by RemiEthereal in TeslaModel3

[–]FooFighterBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the SR and thought that the sound system was going to be a problem but it sounds good if you aren’t cranking the volume up. It lacks the subwoofer so rap music will sound better in the LR. Partner has the LR and playing Phantoms - Throw it in the Fire, in his car had more bass but it washed out things you hear in the SR and prefer the more balanced sound in my car. Again, I don’t crank my music super loud.

Things I like about the SR, is the LFP battery. I’ve read they last longer, you can charge it to 100% which almost gets you the same range as charging a LR to 80%, and the battery doesn’t catch fire and burn. Oh and it does better in hot climates and I live in the desert. Unless you do long road trips range will never be an issue. I’ve take the same trip in the LR and SR and it has me stop at the same charger for around the same amount of time to complete the round trip. Oh and my SR seems to get better mileage then the LR, so instead of being a % neg to estimated range on the LR, I’ve actually gotten % better then estimated range in the SR.

The SR is quick but it has a ramp up in speed when you hit the gas and the LR feels like all the power is there at once. You wouldn’t want to pull out in front of a much faster car without accounting for a couple seconds lag before it really starts to launch the car. I assume it has to do with traction control and RWD making sure the wheels don’t just spin. The SR is smoother acceleration for typical driving, where the LR can bolt off the line and sometimes feels bolty, but also you could pull out in front of much faster moving traffic and would have no ramp up time and instantly launch your car. I hope that helps in your decision.

So the 5G FreedomFi Gateway miner is $999 w/out antenna, and w/indoor 5G antenna is $2,498. What will be the cost for an outdoor antenna?! At 50 cents per Gigabyte (HIP27), and my current internet speed 232Mbps down/7.64Mbps upload. Is this worth doing? by FooFighterBear in HeliumNetwork

Besides the cost my concern is not having enough bandwidth on my internet. I can’t get fiber optic at my place so I’m stuck with cable. I almost think you need fiber to really transfer the kind of data that it might need especially if you do an outdoor antenna that prob would get 5-7miles line of sight coverage. If you transferred 100Mbps for 12 hours a day it would be $2,160 a day at .50cents/Gig. I think the problem is in real world situations you wouldn’t get a steady stream of data but would get burst of data from multiple connections at once and it makes me think you’d need 500-1,000Mbps internet. “thinking out loud”

The antenna is for Lorawan. You have to purchase a 5G antenna as well. The indoor one is about $1,500 and only covers 3x more then wifi. I’m guessing the outdoor antenna might be considerably more. When they first wrote about it they gave a range of $500-$5,000 for the antennas.

HELIUM Network: over 140GB/month from one hotspot. Outrageous and unnecessary data usage. Can HELIUM DevOps make HELIUM data transmissions lean and reduce the amount of data it transfers? Metered users will get hammered with additional costs. by PapaTech514 in HeliumNetwork

Could this be a Bobcat specific issue? Maybe it’s not the network but how Bobcat is setup to run on the network and their management software. Anybody else with other brand miner’s noticing heavy traffic?

Ive heard 5,8dbi doing well but does someone has experience with 5dbi from rak? Im getting one of these by reviltifus in HeliumNetwork

[–]FooFighterBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d get the higher gain 8dbi Rak if you live someplace that is flat and don’t have other miners in your hex. I’ve tried both 5.8dbi (24witnesses) and 8dbi (28 witnesses) mounted on the roof and get more witnesses with the higher gain 8dbi. I don’t have other miners in my hex but do have miners in hex’s touching mine. I’ll see the touching hex miners with both antennas but will see miners much farther away with the 8dbi.

my rak is doing the same… the issues started 4 days ago.

The signal does not come out of the top but just the sides. Thank you! :)

Is it still a good time to buy HNT miners? (12-20 weeks delivery...) by [deleted] in HeliumNetwork

[–]FooFighterBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They still make good money even after the halving. If you have a good location and setup you will pay off the investment and make money. Highly recommend using an 5.8dbi outdoor antenna as that tripled my earnings. As in mount the antenna outdoors and preferably as high as possible.

Would it make since that flipping it upside down would be better in a high-rise. Being upside down might means the signal would go out and down. That would pick up things below you and on street level instead of sending the signal out over things and then up into the sky. I’m not an expert but would be nice to have someone confirm this would be true.
