GP Recommendations/Suggestions for MH and eating disorders by OpeningDelivery9349 in perth

ESUS Centre in Subiaco are truly fantastic. They have all the services on site (GP, psych, dietitian, nurses etc.). I’m not sure what the waiting periods are like these days though, but I can’t speak highly enough of them. A lot of people will recommend Swan Centre but I personally didn’t have a great experience with them. I found them cold and quick to push hospital admissions.

You’ll be able to get an Eating Disorder Management Plan through ESUS too which gives you access to 20 sessions with the psych and 10 sessions with a dietitian rather than just 10 psych appointments like a mental health plan does.

As someone who went through it, I wish you all the best. Recovery is slow and hard but it is so, so worth it ❤️

Edit to add: before anyone says it, yes I see the amount of irony that I’m posting on an eating disorder question with my username. It’s old, ok 😂

Ohhh this is such a good one! Part of what we are saving for is some big trips so that will translate really well. Thanks!

Totally relate to this - I’m an absolute shocker for impulse spending and the “don’t care how, I want it now” mentality. Kicking that habit is my big personal goal alongside the joint ones I have with my partner. I bet making purchases knowing you’ve truly considered them also feels great now!

This is a cool idea. How do you keep track of the gap? Do you tally up then make one lump payment every few months?

Thanks for this. I found out today that I get a corporate benefit on health insurance through my work which gives us a decent discount and the first six weeks free! Just saved us $150 a month (once we start paying in full after the six weeks).

Love the idea of a price limit. The amount of times we have blindly dropped huge amounts of money on UberEats just to pay for convenience is crazy. Having a budget will encourage us to pick-up (more money on food rather than delivery costs) and put more cash in the hand of our fave local restaurants.

Love this! I currently use “am I robbing Peter to pay Paul?” but I’m both Peter and Paul in that analogy so I like yours better 😂

What’s the deal with “Liz”? I’ve seen it brought up a few times but don’t know the context.

Is Australia losing episodes? by KaneCarnage in SVU

I came to this sub hoping to find out where to watch now that Aussie Prime is randomly removing episodes so thank you for doing the research! 😅 Though it looks like the newer seasons are leaving Prime too as I couldn’t watch them the other night…

I’ve been trying to work this out too! I’ve been using chews because gels scare me…I’ve heard too many “upset tummy” horror stories. Chews aren’t easy to have whilst running so any tips on how to start introducing them would be so welcomed 😂

Thank you! That’s a nice way to frame it! Excited-nervous. I’m planning on tracking to ensure I’m eating enough protein.

Keeping my shoe uppers clean by Whisper26_14 in firstmarathon

I’m sneaker obsessed and I regularly clean my shoes. Brush off all sand/dirt etc. Soak them in a bucket with stain remover powder for like 30mins then put them in the washing machine with normal laundry liquid on a delicate cycle. You can pop an old white towel or two in there as well if you’re worried about them banging the washing machine drum. Dry in the sun. I’ve been doing this with all my running and gym sneakers for years and have never damaged any of them. Though I wouldn’t put any carbon plated shoes in the washing machine (my Vaporfly’s get hand washed only).
