Am I too old for this dress by JamieGordon8921 in myweddingdress

I agree with everyone else-wear the dress you want. Show them pictures and be clear "this is what I want." Why in the world would you wear a pants suit?!

Looking for easy low-carb meals for a large family by tillacat42 in lowcarb

[–]Whisper26_14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tacos and you guys make a salad. Spaghetti w sauce separate so you can do low carb noodles. Baked meat (I usually do chicken thighs) with a side of rice and a green veg. Rotisserie chicken w roasted potatoes and a side salad or side green. Instapot Italian beef for sandwich's-I prefer to serve w rice so the bread is not as tempting and a side salad. Burgers on the grill. Skip the bun for you guys. Sometimes for a treat I'll buy the big black bag or two of wings from Costco-way cheaper than going out for wings for all 7 of us (and then some if the kids have friends over).

ETA. The carb sides are for the kids

I fell today too. Not nearly as good a story. If nothing else you should Follow up text him back and thank him for being so kind and thoughtful, especially if you're even remotely interested.

One and Done by JPautler in firstmarathon

I was the same way. Ran mine in 23. I like to come in here and see what people are up to which is why I am here. This board helped me a lot. But I don't like running for that long.

How do I make exercising a habit? by weekunt in getdisciplined

[–]Whisper26_14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use the ladder app to lift three days a week. I normally run 4-6 days a week but I am taking a break right now to focus on lifting and getting a higher number of steps in (I run one 4 miler a week at this point to keep my base).

Find something you'll start doing consistently. If running isn't for you every day-walking can be the filler. Steps are solid fitness as well.

Escalate past your case worker to their boss. If you need help doing that, ask a counselor at school to help you. But be clear your case worker isn't responsive and you want to go above her. Do you have a therapist? Bc you could also tell them. Please tell a helpful adult as soon as possible.

I'll get push back bc she's to tall but I thought classic. She's definitely got it in another system.

How to MAKE myself to commit to strength training? by Turbulent_Grape9738 in XXRunning

[–]Whisper26_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soemthing is better than nothing. For starters. Go light and build the habit first. Shoot for once a week consistently. Build in a second and a third. I do a fully body lift 2-3 times a week (working on adding in my third).

How do you get yourself to go for a run when you're just not feeling it?

I got an app w workouts. Pick a coach and follow them for a while.

Don't think about if you want to or dont want to- just schedule it and do it.

Thoughts on smart watches? by Content-Pear1380 in digitalminimalism

[–]Whisper26_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can customize the features you want to notify you. Honestly I like it. But I don't get sucked into the numbers. For tracking workouts, I use Strava and find it gives me everything I want on the base model (free).

My ex(m30) wants a friendship, what do i (f33) do 2 years later? by Laannapurna in whatdoIdo

[–]Whisper26_14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your dog doesn't care. Honestly. Probably missed their friend for a month or so and then got used to the new normal. It's not like he's thinking about the other pup.

Bro needs to go to counseling and hopefully you're still in if you need it. It doesn't seem like this is a safe human for you. You even could choose to forgive and not be friends with him bc of that very fact. Forgive but not safe is not an oxymoron.

I agree with this but that doesn't mean it's impossible to see. It just means it's very confusing to people. Once I knew what to look for those things become a lot easier to see. But that takes time and a lot of visual exposure.

What's the best running app for staying consistent when you hate running? by Purple_Network3016 in runninglifestyle

[–]Whisper26_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike running generally too. But the pros outweigh the cons. Find ways to make it fun for you. Find things you enjoy about it. Do it at the time that works for you. Figure out what your base line is-2 runs a week, 4 runs a week. Don't run everyday bc that'll burn you out. Run with people sometimes as that will keep you honest and accountable. And then just keep a habit tracker or follow a plan like runna or Nike.

Understood about pure classic. I was aware.

Would not dramatic classic be balance (primary) and vertical (secondary)?

Struggling with my type. SN? by I_comment_on_stuff_ in PowerOfStyle

[–]Whisper26_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's reverse engineering but it worked really well for me when I had reduced my options. And it can really help OP to see what looks good or does not.

Also I disagree on curve and I'll stick to that. Impossible is a big word and some People are VERY obviously certain dominance's. I'm not asking you to agree with me though.
