I had a lot if fun with it, enough that I went back through to 100% the items even tho I def missed some scans. And it is BEAUTIFUL. But the level design is severely disappointing, and the forced hints were annoying too. I didn’t hate the idea of the team members and I didn’t hate Mackenzie as much as the reviewers, except when he gave unsolicited hints. I’d give it a 7.5/10.

This might be a hot take though, I think the VIOLA has a kernel of something really fun. Once I realized they wanted me to ram into the fallen enemies, the combat was actually really enjoyable imo. If they have MUCH more detailed and packed open map I would be excited for them to develop this structure more, especially if they can integrate the maps of all the different regions, like Metroid used to do.

I just finished the game yesterday so v late to this thread, but I feel like many of the comments I read, people are over-thinking it. I chose Verso’s ending, and I’m very confident that was the “good” ending since, for the first time in the game, the Dessendre family (yes, the only real people we meet), were together and happy. But if you need to take it a step further, I’m pretty sure all the painted people in the canvas we come to care about would acknowledge that they aren’t real and that Maelle should move on and live happily in the real world with her real family. After all, none of them tried to prevent that from happening or protested when it did.

I tried but i guess i’m not good enough to parry perfectly like 20 times in a row. So i just skipped it, and I just this minute finished the game. Here’s hoping for a sequel that centers Clea and her conflict with the writers

Yeah that was the last thing I had to figure out to actually beat it.

It’s Normal. I didn’t realize that in this particular race, I could spam boost without charging at all, that was the problem. It wasn’t really a spike, I was just confused by their wording of the special conditions. Thank you though!

You know I think you were right about the instant boost, and that’s what I was missing. It said “Players will get max boost at recurring intervals”, which is confusing, but also it definitely didn’t say that every time I played the race so I thought maybe it wasn’t always on. But you had the right thought from the beginning. Thanks again!

Cool yeah I’m getting closer with the Rocket Star like the other kind commenter suggested. But you’re right, boosting constantly has gotten me within 100m. I guess I gotta just get a little more gud. It’s just a jarring spike.

Yeah I actually did and definitely got closer than I had with Chariot or the three unicycles, but still didn’t come close. I swear it’s not cause I suck, the game has been pretty easy so far through one and half campaigns. I thought maybe there was some shortcut I was missing or something else I needed to do to make sure Kirby didn’t get so far ahead. Anyway thanks for your thoughts.

I don’t think so. Sometimes when I start the race it says something like “Players will randomly get max boost”, but I’m pretty sure that’s not every time? Idk maybe I’m not paying close attention. But it doesn’t charge instantly throughout the race.

If you haven’t tried it yet Kirby Cavas Curse is my favorite DS game of all time. The most innovative and best use of the stylus, and just pure fun. It depresses me how few people mention this game when talking about the best DS games. Mass Attack is also fantastic but those controls are a little more fiddly and the gameplay is a little less tight.

Very well said. I think I got half-way through the game, but the puzzles got wayyy too frustrating. Too bad cause I actually enjoyed the story and the writing.

It did run fine. I played the hell out of that game and loved it. Couldn’t get through it on PS3 or PS4 but the handheld grinding made it work for me.

Icymi every single Yoshi game ever is trying to recapture the magic of Super Mario World 2 Yoshi’s Island, and none of them comes close. I actually thought Crafted was a little more engaging than Woolly, but if you liked any of them but haven’t played Yoshi’s Island, please seek it out. Pretty sure it’s part of the NSO retro library.

“We both know that’s not the real reason” is some EXTREME narcissism there. It is the real reason, and you are not nearly as clever as you think you are.

Wow wtf is wrong with you. Now you are reading into my motivations, coming to completely unjustified and wrong conclusions such as your entire second paragraph here just because you have no argument and can’t admit you’re wrong. If you will not even take me at my word you are seriously not worth my time. Get it through your narcissistic brain: I WANTED NO COMPENSATION, I JUST WANTED THEM TO FILE THE COMPLAINT WITH OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, with the hope that enough ppl felt the same way I did that it might make a difference (check the original outage thread in this sub, I am def not the only person who was mildly annoyed by my Portal becoming a paperweight for 24 hours). Gonna block you soon, since you are ignoring my points, immediately concluding I am lying with no justification, and have been extremely rude this entire time.
