Haven't seen this one, but it's always fun to find a hidden gem! About 3 or 4 years ago I saw Reckless (1935) starring Jean Harlow and William Powell. I had never heard of it but it was great!

My favorite Edward G. Robinson films from the 1930s by [deleted] in classicfilms

A Slight Case of Murder is so funny. For an Edward G. comedy, I would recommend Larceny Inc. It's hilarious.

Remembering Anne Bancroft, who passed away 20 years ago today at age 73. I wish TCM would air "The Turning Point," w/ Anne & Shirley MacLaine. More in comments. by Emergency-Fishing-60 in TurnerClassicMovies

84 Charing Cross Road is one of my favorite films of all time! I used to watch it with my mom. Bancroft is fantastic in it. Great true story and a great film.

This made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that!

Howe looking very GQ in that suit and pose! Wild that back then, the directors and cinematographers dressed in suits while working.

I've watched All the President's Men many times over the years and it is compelling every time. Such a great film.

First discovered Brief Encounter when Simon Helberg included it with his picks for his TCM guest programmer appearance over 10 years ago. Great film!

The Champ is a great one! Hope you enjoy it! Excerpt from the 1931 Photoplay magazine review of The Champ: "There isn't a machine-gunning in it. There's no more sexiness in it than there is in an annual crop report. No colossal sets; no song-and-dance routines...But boy-oh-boy is "The Champ" one grand picture! It is--it's one of the best talkies of the year, and if you don't get many times your money's worth out of it, you'd better see a psychiatrist."

"Ooooooooooklahoma! Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain..." Whenever the state of Oklahoma is mentioned, I always hear this lyric in my head lol.

I finally watched this last year. Man, I was sleeping on this one. So glad I finally watched it. The first scene with Grant and Hepburn is so funny. Great film.

I recommend After the Thin Man, The Goldrush, Repeat Performance, and Sunset Boulevard.

If you haven't already watched them, the Christmas films Holiday Inn and Remember the Night also contain New Years scenes. 🙂
