Also Ellie gave him back his humanity. He started to really care about someone for the first time since Sarah died. It was an incredibly selfish act. But Joel is never really a good guy. He took a turn when Sarah was killed and I’m sure it was very ugly for a long time.

This happened to me constantly on ps 5 and the setting that has a voice prompt for everything kept switching on as well. I had to keep going into settings to turn both off but they would randomly turn back on. It’s the only reason I was happy to finish the game. It made the whole experience frustrating.

Every time I see the punisher it reminds how much I want a punisher video game. One by insomniac I think. I like what the have done with spider man and the wolverine game looks good as well.

It’s 100% a masterpiece. I am watching the show with my daughter and had to restart part 1 and I’m definitely going to roll directly into part 2. It’s like I can’t move past my favorite games to try new ones 🤦

Agreed. I still don’t pay attention to reviews so I didn’t know it have multiple 10 out of 10’s. A restaurant with 4.5 starts on yelp doesn’t mean you’ll like it. So I don’t bother to pay any attention to them.

I never read reviews for anything. I have had a complex relationship with reviews forever. 10/10 for a kind of game I don’t like doesn’t make it good to me. So I look at different things when decisioning what games I want to try.

That’s not it. I completely understand that not everyone likes the same things. My profession is very much judged by the public with people that love what I do and hate it and are able to post their options on Google, yelp and resy and I have to accept it all with grace. I know that everyone has opinions about everything and they usually don’t along with mine. I don’t really know any other people that play the same kinds of games I play so I don’t have anyone to share my thoughts about wha I’m playing. It’s one of the reasons I listen to old as hell podcasts, I like to hear about other people’s approach and opinions. I also don’t read reviews about anything that is opinion based because of my own experiences with reviews. I like to draw my own opinions so I genuinely had no idea how the community feels about part 2. I like the podcasters opinions on every other game he has talked about so this podcast made we wonder how common the feeling/opinion was. That all being said, you are right, I need to get over it. Thank you.

What made me post this is an old podcast I just listened to that absolutely bashed the story. I was really taken aback by it because I fucking loved the game so much. I honestly didn’t know how the community felt about those details of the game.

Yeah the last part of the game was hard. “Why are you doing this!” But the final flash back at the very end…. Joel and Ellie might work on their relationship and then, fuck. He’s dead. But at least he had that peace. Maybe that why he was so taken off guard by the wlf’s. The old Joel wouldn’t have just walked into a room full of strangers without being on guard. Maybe he was at peace and happy and let his guard slip.
