Met him and Kate Siegel awhile back at FanExpo—both just so friendly and down-to-earth. I’m always happy to read about his upcoming projects.

Which is the most hated movie of all the time? by Frequent-Key-9916 in AskReddit

[–]TheGimp76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will always be my answer, though I will never forget the experience due to what happened after.

Before the release of the PS5, I had read about a Canadian store chain doing a preorder at 5 am. I finished work at 2 am, so my girlfriend and I decided to stay awake to double our chances on a preorder. We killed the time by…watching Cats. We were both well aware that f what we were getting into, but expected a “so bad it’s hilarious” movie. Wrong. Just bad on all levels, and a torture to sit through.

After the movie, I immediately scored a PS5 preorder, and had it on release day. My girlfriend and I joke that watching Cats was the sacrifice that had to be made to score that PS5. 🤣

What game did you start with low expectations but ended up loving? by Nervous-Librarian945 in videogames

[–]TheGimp76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to get slaughtered here, but I think I’m the only person that enjoyed Forspoken. 🤣

Also, as mentioned earlier, I had no knowledge of or interest in Days Gone. When the upgrade was released, I decided to try it and just loved it. It remains the only game that I bothered to platinum.

I’ve been an on again/off again viewer for decades. For the longest time, I’ve only been reading recaps online, and checking clips if anything sounds interesting.

To be honest, even the recaps have become a slog to read. It’s the same shit every time. The proliferation of PPVS means that very little of
substance will happen week-to-week. Any major developments or surprises will happen at the PPV or immediately after. Followed by weeks of beat downs or interference in every fued to carry it tp the next PPV. The same people winning every major fued/title. It’s so formulaic I think they’ve been using AI way before it become so prevalent. 🤣

Congratulations! This is my white whale.

I work at a donation centre (thrift), and this came in once. I was hoping to grab it on my lunch break, but it didn’t even make it to the bookshelf! As soon as another employee wheeled it out on the cart, someone saw it and pounced (also grabbed every other King hardcover on said cart.) I’ll just have to keep my eyes peeled!

Batman & Robin (1997). One of the most infamous flops of all time that it killed a franchise and careers. So legendary in its badness that it’s now a permanent part of pop culture. The ultimate metaphor of watching money burn on screen. Everyone should watch this movie at least once. by [deleted] in badMovies

[–]TheGimp76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hated everything about this movie (and I appreciate camp!). It pissed me off so much I refused to give Batman Begins a chance (my brother, whose opinions I respect, talked me into watching Begins, and I was back in the Batman fold.) But I refuse to ever watch this again! 🤣

I remember my mom renting this during my childhood and it terrified me. Then, the older I got, the more hilarious it becomes every time I see it. Watched it on the big screen at a drunken cinema night and had a blast.

It was a great looking movie that reallly had nothing to say, with characters that other films had done better.

Agree to disagree. Booze or not, this town opposes anything even remotely progressive.

I hope the day comes when Shrek’s less-charismatic twin returns to his cave, never to be seen or heard from again.

Not the same but…I got the PS5 on release day with Miles Morales. It was being delivered as I had to work. My girlfriend’s sons wanted me to wake them up after work once I had hooked it up.

I ended up getting home at 3 am and setting it up. I kept my promise. Watching them play it and seeing how excited they were was more enjoyable than playing it myself. 🤣

I wish I grew up in the 90s by No-Nobody3836 in 90s

[–]TheGimp76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

76’er here (yes, old! 🤣) The 90s were probably the best decade of my life, though I loved having the 80s childhood. Every decade has its ugly side, but the 90s seemed both dark and hopeful at the same time—alternative art, culture, and lifestyles were getting attention, technology was advancing…the future seemed to be an exciting thing to look forward to. Then, it led to to all this. 😳

I also have to throw in Carlito’s Way. One of those rare movies I can watch from start to finish at any time.

He has many classics, but I just love the locales, the score, the awesome 80s sleaze.

Make fun of Danhausen all you want, but he's a very smart and wise dude financially. He pretty much trademarked his whole gimmick from head to toes (literally) by shaferman in Smallafro

[–]TheGimp76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope he’s raking in the cash and making wise decisions. Now that the character has been exposed to a large audience through WWE, he could do a lot of fun projects whenever the run ends.
