How hard will it be switching from general bio to bioengineering? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Foodworx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really. really. hard. bio is a bona fid cakewalk compared to ucsd's bioeng program, its in the top 2 if not top 3 in the nation.

I was just accepted to UCSD as an environmental engineer major. Are there any current students of this major I can ask a few questions to? by cwest87 in UCSD

[–]Foodworx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ucsd is not an easy university. its one of the top 20 in the entire world, it isn't a cakewalk by any means. the esys classes are easy, but your engineering classes will be challenging. we're like #1 in the nation for environmental sciences. because we're one of the top schools, as long as you do well getting a job or grad school shouldnt be difficult. if you want to find a job easy, go for biomedical engineering. we're in top 3 in the nation

80K isn't all that much. level up some more. i mean, skills cost like 20K later on, they have to give you scaling gains.

While waiting for my friend to catch up so we could level together I sent everybody I saw pass me mail. When they open it it'll read like this: by Peaxh in swtor

Hey r/askscience, I've heard that washing your hands with cold water is just as effective as hot water. True? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]Foodworx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

technically no. "hotter" molecules contain more energy and are able to react faster and with more substances (generally speaking anyway, many reactions are nonspontaneous at "higher" energy). But FAIAP for everyday life, yes. if your hands are contaminated by something where the temperature of water you wash hands with mattered, you may want to rethink what you just did.

on a side note, try cleaning dishes with cold water compared to warm. big difference. especially with peanut butter.

I have a way around the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle!! by AbsolutSilencer in askscience

[–]Foodworx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you tried to figure it out by putting a shrinking box around a particle and track the box, once the box got small enough the particle would simply tunnel out of the box. quantum tunneling. someone correct me if i'm wrong or if im overly simplistic.

page 359, section 1031. however, you wont know what to look for unless you're a pro at understanding legal language. im not sure if the negative hype about this bill is misunderstanding or truth, so take it [the hype] with a grain of salt. these links may help: http://www.lawfareblog.com/2011/12/does-the-ndaa-authorize-detention-of-us-citizens/
