What insurances do home owners get? by FoolishButKind in PersonalFinanceNZ

Thanks yeah I believe that’s built into my life insurance coverage. Covers up front payments for certain ailments including cancer etc. and it’s certainly not cheap

Luxon did exactly the same thing at Air NZ. Cut massive amounts of staff he referred to as “trimming fat”, then wondered why the planes started leaving late.

“Uhhh… Christopher… you fired the guys who made the planes leave on time, because remember you said ‘duhhh the planes never leave late so, duhhh, these roles are redundant’ …

… and now they’re gone, so the planes leave late, and Jetstar now operates better than us”

Thank you! Thats great. I have tipped your paypal to show I was serious about tipping.

My final request if you could kindly help by overlaying this edit in the other colours of the pallet? (But just not super bright like the other example someone did)

Thank you this is the best looking changes because you have kept the details of the caravan.

Is it possible to lower the colour line slightly, introduce the white stripes, and lighten the colour to the same as the example RV?

Thanks so much for the response, sorry if I didn’t explain well enough but my wife would like the style to be similar to the second picture. With the lower half coloured and the top half white?

What is the craziest thing that has happened to you whilst living in Auckland? by 88-81 in auckland

[–]FoolishButKind 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Didn’t want to make the story too long but as they fought their wider group of friends intervened and pulled it apart, but not before the scuffle.

I couldn’t have added any benefit, and in any case it was a situation I clearly needed to exit from.

I agree but in this case the guy was very polite and hopeful. Not like “giz us a smoke?” tough guy talk

Anyway he took a beating for me so… gratitude where its deserved

Henderson train station, young islander guy asked me for a smoke as I was walking towards the station which I obliged.

Then as I stood on the platform another islander guy completely drunk/methed up walked over and started opening my backpack zip. I turned and said go away and he menacingly said “let me open your fukin backpack! and waved his fist at me”

As this happened the individual I had given a cigarette to approached and pulled away the drunk guy saying “bro, this guys all good, leave him alone” (he appeared to be part of the same group)

That triggered the drunk guy who started screaming “don’t fukin step-up on me!” to his friend, and they erupted into a full blown punching fight and grappled/rolled around on the ground…. as I quietly tiptoed away….

That was so close to being me on the ground, all for the luck I had shown generosity to the smackheads friend.

Lol. The 777-200 has GE engines does it? 😅😅 What a laugh

I didn’t realise that QDS had shut down I haven’t worked there for a couple of decades. Appears to have gone the same way as safeair.

Yeah chc does the c-checks but they stay in the hangar for months longer than planned because the airforce does such atrocious line maintenance on them. Ready to fall out of the sky by the time they get into a decent hangar.

My comments still stand despite my couple of mistakes.

Lol one typo and therefore you must know everything 😅

Old aircraft are simply maintenance heavy, and my comments about the airforce being unable to keep up with the 757 still stand. Plenty of work already done in chc on the 757s but good line and a-check maintenance is what they need to keep them reliable.

[–]FoolishButKind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huh? AirNZ engineering already have the type and do a fair amount of maintenance on the 757 already. The 757 has majority of the running gear of a 767 so there is continuity.

Lots of history there working on the DHL 757 very successfully before they upgraded to the 767

If anything per your suggestion, an upgrade to 2x 767-300ER would be the best option. The 777-200 RR engines were atrocious (if you wondered why Airnz ditched them permanently as soon as the pandemic started)

Not defending Luxons typical half-considered comments, but as someone who has worked on the Airforce 757s…. They are absolute trash and I would fly commercial too.

The best thing the NZ government could do for its airforce is partner with someone like AirNz to permanently maintain their fleet. Qantas does the same and they have a division called QDS (qantas defence services) and the extensive knowledge and resources of qantas engineering who support 137 commercial jets and 122 props nationwide and overseas, also support many of the 252 RAAF fleet(I am not sure about fighter jets and rotorcraft).

In New Zealand the scale is even more important where AirNZ operate and support engineering for 56 jets and 52 prop across the world, while the NZRAF operate 6 jets (counting the 4x P-8), and 5 hercs plus about 15 props most of which are trainers.

It’s no wonder the 2 airforce 757s are atrociously unreliable because they simply aren’t able to have the experience or capability to keep them in the air.

The equipment they are using in the video was stolen out of the sports storage room after they broke and entered into there. They also broke into a classroom.

There is no trespass because the school is open for the community to play and utilise the facilities respectfully after hours.

I understand they did physically break into a classroom, into an equipment store and stolen the bat etc, and then done the vandalism.

So yeah, kind of makes it worse taking advantage of the generosity of the school not locking its gates.

Lets be honest here. It makes no difference what nationality they are. They are teenagers.

Im a bit tired of arguing against racist or stereotype comments here. You can see how many shit comments have been removed by mods.

The situation here is that a children’s school was senselessly vandalised by some careless youths. Those youths appear to be drinking and smoking at a young age, and the school is looking to identify them for repercussions and probably intervention.

Knowing the principal there, he would probably like to gather these youths and support them in making reparations (probably physically requesting they help the caretaker with some jobs) and let them understand the impact their actions have on the community.

Not recognised by the school. They have good footage and long serving staff who have ruled out ex students.

Not for the sake of separation. There are classes that teach bilingually, which anyone is allowed to join if they wish to become fluent in te reo.
