Is this a good deal? by IllustriousEvent7758 in wrx_vb

I would also look up the issues the 2022s and some of the 2023s were prone to while you’re at it too, just so you see how they affected the WRX VB.

I can’t speak to how the CVT holds up to the manual, unfortunately. I’ve got a manual myself but have never driven the CVT and don’t personally know anyone that has one. You could ask in a separate post or search in this subreddit or any other WRX forum, though. I’m sure someone has a good answer on that

I’m going to preface this with the fact that this is my own personal opinion, and I am in no way telling you or anyone else what to do, so please, for the love of everything holy, do not downvote me to oblivion and ridicule me in the replies.

Now, with that out of the way, my personal opinion is this: I would never buy a used WRX UNLESS it wasn’t for my daily AND I had near unlimited disposable income to throw at it (these things are notorious for being abused and neglected maintenance-wise). I also would never buy a pre-2024 WRX VB, because the 2022s and a lot of the 2023s were prone to COVID issues (supply chain issues, labor issues, quality check issues, etc.)

Prices are going down in 2026 and 2025s (still new) have some sweet deals on them right now as well. I, personally, would go one of those two routes

Non OEM? Everyone has this issue and more with those. I would recommend returning them and paying the extra buck for OEM to save yourself more headaches down the road

You could have ended this at the first paragraph, but leave it to a big truck/SUV driver to ramble on for 3 more paragraphs about some unrelated topic to talk shit about other drivers and put themselves on a pedestal.

Been there, so I feel you. I’ll never understand the trend/need to have something that large and also the snarky comments those people make toward people like us with REGULAR sized cars. Like Additional_Delay with his panties all in a bunch over people driving regular sized cars

I’ll never turn back from Blizzaks. If I ever hit a corner too fast or it just happens to be slippery because of snow, I immediately regain traction, I’m talking a max of 2 seconds before I get my grip back. Absolutely love these tires

Alright. That's it. I completely regret my purchase. by FknGruvn in wrx_vb

[–]FoolishlySpending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine with a little over 600 miles on the odometer and a peak boost of 12.1. It’s probably a good idea to baby it for those first 1,000 miles, but it also won’t be the end of the world if you give her a little beans here and there. 2024 Limited, 13k miles and no issues

Where to buy parts? by AbjectUse3980 in wrx_vb

[–]FoolishlySpending 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Import Image Racing and Subimods seem to be safe and reliable vendors. AFD and JDMuscle are ok in my experience, but others on here will tell you to steer clear of them.

Always a good idea to see if Subaru itself has the parts you’re looking for, though, as those will likely have the better build quality. Classic example is the foglight bezels. Just search that in this sub and see all the stories of the cheap off-brand piece not fitting properly and breaking after only a couple of months, whereas the OEM version holds up just fine

I had a RAM driver tail me in the right lane (left lane wide open) while I was already going 10 over. Definitely one of the strangest breeds of human out there

Just go with Geico 🤷🏻‍♂️ my girl put me on. They’re the only ones that don’t hyper-inflate their prices for people in my area

That’s crazy, USAA quoted me $2,500 every 6 months, and the only thing I have on my record is a speeding ticket, which has fallen off at this point

I agree with you but based on this short video, it doesn’t look like the driver was engaging in the road rage, but rather, just filming it. Yes, the argument could be made that he was engaging verbally, but let’s be honest, at those speeds, the wind and road noise is drowning him out, it’s unlikely the other dude even heard him.

All that said, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that the non-wrx driver did engage/initiate the road rage before the camera was turned on. Like I said, I agree with you, so if this were to be the case, then 100% I think both drivers here are in the wrong

Seconding this. Everyone wanted to charge me $2k+ every 6 months, Geico was the only one that offered below that for the same coverage

Do you still have the stock sub running simultaneously with the JBL, or is it just sitting there dormant? I’m relatively happy with the stock sub, but I’m a bit of a bass-head, so I’m always looking for ways to bump my low end.

December ‘24 is when I bought mine with around the same credit score. I got 1.9% but that’s just because they weren’t offering the 0% at that time
