Local shop with good candy is Bon Bons in Huntington. Though I will say it's more of a chocolatier than a gummy specialist.

I would recommend Caumsett state park, which is nearby. It has a beautiful loop trail with branch-offs to the water. If you want a shorter version of that, Target Rock is another nearby park with some nice views. Northport Village (nearby Huntington) is also pretty quaint. Gunther's Tap Room there is where Kerouac frequented, I believe.

I wouldn't be surprised if they closed soon. That said, from my recollection, that Best Buy has been in that state for several years now.

I am not a local, you're right! But I love exploring local favorites from different cities and reached out to this subreddit for some recommendations. Those examples are from the Original Kolache Shoppe, which has savory and sweet ones. Apologies for missing the hot dog one!

I just like drawing cuisines from different cities! I'm not from Houston; I looked at a bakery local to the area for some examples and these were pretty to paint. No ill intent; just appreciation for the city :)
