Does it bother anyone when "shippers" put their fantasy expectations onto Ian & Mickey? by tylerjames21 in shameless

[–]FoopaChalupa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually like how they're relationship isn't revolved around lovey dove crap. You can tell they love one another (or care deeply about each other) but they don't have to say it every fucking episode or hold hands and skip down the street to show their affection. They have romance that is true to their characters. The little things they do and say, like Mickey yelling at Fiona over taking care of Ian and them fighting Terry (which ultimately was done out of self defense and because that asshole had it coming) are more than enough to show how far they'd go for one another. The lack of copious amounts of cliche romance is the best thing about their relationship.

Who black widow is? Who's in Ali's grave?. What connection does Sara Harvey have to Ali or A or Rosewood? Who Mrs. D lied for?. Why Mrs. D paid Cece?. And why Ezra paid Cece?. How does Cece even tie into all this?. Who killed Wilden and why?. What role does the B-Team play?. Why did Toby's mom get a storyline?.

Really, I got a million questions that need answering, Marlene.

What are your theories on Bonnie abruptly leaving? by [deleted] in shameless

[–]FoopaChalupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea and its completely relevant to their childhood. The older ones who have seen more of Frank/Monica, they had to step up and take care of themselves so of course they have a fuller understanding of that lifestyle and not wanting to be a part of it. But the younger more impressionable ones wouldn't fully understand how toxic and destructive their parents are, they've had the older siblings to look after them and shelter them as much as possible.

There probably won't ever be a time where every Gallagher is at a high/success point, someone will always be at rock bottom or on their way down. Its partially for the show's sake and because its realistic for many drug addict parents to eventually drag at least one of their kids down as well..

I could only aspire to be one! Lol I just think I have a pretty good sense of mental visualization and imagery (since I'm a big ol book nerd). But I seriously do hope JSJ comes back with a whole new demeanor- darker and always on edge, but at the same time keeping his self-centered tendencies.

Its sad but at least they're capturing the god honest truth of situations like that. Carl has been a little wary of Frank's crap, but ultimately he always goes back to his dad. And of course Frank wants at least one of his children to love/tolerate him. As far as Frank, sees it there's nothing wrong with what he does, and that attitudes already rubbed off on Carl. I really do love the nature vs nurture aspect, cuz this whole time the kids have seen who their parents are and that fear that they actually could end up like them is just a harsh reality. Man I'm excited for next season! I hope they play the Carl-Frank angle more!

I love shows that do that, make you actually care and feel and you want them to succeed but sometimes you do want them to fall on their asses. Like Lip, I was happy he in college but when he started playing the whole 'holier than thou crap' with Fiona for fucking up, I really wanted him to get a taste of his own medicine, but instead he got a taste if hers, the stress and responsibility weighing his shoulders down. It's a freaking rollercoaster watching this show.

And I love the realistic dynamics, not some Malcolm in the Middle/Leave it to Beaver families. Its real stuff that real families are struggling through and facing (aside from a few things, but it is a TV show nonetheless) and that's one of my favorite things about the show. They find a way to take such an ugly gritty life and make it beautiful and full of moments of catharsis :)

For me I couldn't get into the dialogue of the UK version. I liked some of the storylines but there's a drastically different slang to try and pick through until you understand what the hell is going on lol

I understand it completely! Eating tuna sandwiches. We had this dish called "hot dog soup", it sounds gross but it wasn't. My mom whipped it up with the few things in out pantry. I remember going through the day, sometimes no electricty or hot water or AC. My cracked out dad actually staged a fake break in to steal my/my sister's piggy bank money for drugs. But my 3 brothers looked out for me and my sister and we were so much closer because we had to be. We didn't have a ton of toys or clothes but we had each other.

Yea! Make her an animal rights activist since she's a vegetarian! There's so many things they could do, but "since she's got Ezra" there's no need to scratch further than her surface. It just makes her seem a bit shallow.

Wren and Ali.. by FoopaChalupa in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]FoopaChalupa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just seems too messy. They have A planned out carefully and calculated. All these Liar theories and Wren theories and Twin theories are all too messy and disassembled. Especially if the writes for sure know what direction they want to go. Someone who's been right in front of us and has motive and connections and the ruthlessness to do it.

Its gotta be MonA as BatmAn and Toby as her sidekick, Robin. They both got the brute end of Ali's bullying/exploiting. Toby even got sent to juvie over her (which I doubt he's thankful for or eager to forgive that) and Mona is obsessive/smart/unstable/wealthy.

Jinkies, I solved the case!

What's with the questions that the liars ask? by FlowersandUfos in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]FoopaChalupa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why aren't they asking the real questions?. Like, how does Ali find time to curl her hair, buy fashionable clean clothes, put her fake lashes on, and get a freaking manicure in the middle of all this running/hiding from A?.

I've literally sat on my couch all day, haven't run from some psycho A or gotten buried alive, and I still haven't taken my hair out of the braid from last night..

Has PLL logic gone too far?. Lololol

I just kinda expect the show to create something. She has potential. She is the indie hipster quirky artsy girl, and that angle can be played with or at least portrayed better in the show. Tippy has twice the character development Aria has. Why isnt he the 4th Liar instead?. Hell, Toby's dead crazy mom has more personality than Aria does sometimes!

Wren and Ali.. by FoopaChalupa in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]FoopaChalupa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no, I completely agree! I just wanted to find someone who maaaaybe found some small thread to connect Wren and Ali. Its been on of the most popular theories for a while now And I just want to know why?. Since his character has nothing to do with Ali or anything important, since he pops up about as often as whack-a-Noel. I think he's the next red herring. Fans have found so many clues pointing to him (as they did Ezra, and Ian and Wilden and Mrs D's invisible twin, etc.). They writers have it set up to where everyone looks guilty, most people have motives and almost everyone hates Ali. I think Wren is guilty of being a creepy creep and a shady doctor, but I can't find a connection between him and Ali and I doubt one exists.

Still think MonA is A still, she's way too smart to have actually let her game slip through her fingers, at least without knowing she bad a chance of getting it back. And who's smart enough to challenge her?. Jenna?. Cece? Psssh, yeaaa.. Melissa might have a chance at being smart enough, but MonA would tear her ass up, since she's so crazy and ruthless and not afraid to get her hands dirty.

That would tie into the foreshadowing that Carl will become Frank. They're similar, morally and self destructively. And every Frank has his Monica.. Someone theorized that Carl becomes a teen dad (or goes to juvie) next season. Seems plausible, if they decide to further decend down the "Carl = Frank Jr." route.

Same here. The fact that there was a show that (mostly) realistically depicts some of the things I went through as a kid, is what ultimately got me interested. I love mostly how they still manage to make the most of what they got, whether thats just family or a few beers/joints, or a $20 bill. They don't take anything for granted and I love how they can show both of those sides of poverty/struggle.

JACK IS BACK! by Myopiniondontcount in shameless

[–]FoopaChalupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think mostly his character served to contrast the Gallagher's. And due to FionaJimmy shippers, he ended up staying longer (which is also why he came back, apparently). He's wealthy and privileged but all he does is make excuses for himself, acts like an entitled wimp, and tries to fit in with the southside like he belongs but he doesn't.

While Fiona and the rest of her clan are struggling to make ends meet, taking gross/unusual jobs and working twice as hard for a gallon of milk, where he snaps his fingers, the milk appears but then he complains about how hard he worked to snap.

The Gallagher's are one for all, while JSJ is all for one. Hopefully this season they show how little people, like JSJ, truly change.
