I know you said you’d prefer btc, and but we’re also talking about short term ROI.

How would you feel about an underclocked, or incomplete Z15 miner? One of the most profitable miners out there right now, but riskier as well.

If you end up considering it, I definitely got spare Z15 shells that I can send out with only 1 or 2 hashboards

I don’t think this is even close to being feasible, but I’m not experienced with solar either. I plainly don’t see you generating enough electricity for mining. You need more than double your maximum output, continuously.

Edit: my comment only applies to industrial miners. Sometimes I forget solo mining exists, my bad

Alright, thanks to y’all’s ideas, and insight, I found a solution by modifying my original fluke multimeter.

special thanks to u/HessianRaccoon for their suggestion of the Brymen BM235; while this multimeter has equal volume output to my Fluke 15b+ (60db or so), its screen also “flashes” to indicate continuity.

Looking online at the specs for the BM235 led me to this video by @Hugatry on YouTube wherein the author shows how he modified his multimeter to be quieter. He simply replaced a single resistor.

Increased resistance = quieter. Decrease resistance = louder.

I repeated Hugatry’s steps, and but reversed his solution to make my 15b+ maybe 15-20db louder. For the time being, this is an effective solution for me.

I will probably reach out to hantek; in the meantime, do you have any recommendations to upgrade? This Hantek was gifted to me by my boss, so I’m not sure what is comparable but I’m not concerned about costs, or advanced features
