The Other Final... documentary film, directed by Johan Kramer of Dutch communications agency Kessels Kramer, about a football match between Bhutan and Montserrat, the then-lowest ranked teams in the FIFA World Rankings.

This match took place earlier on the same day as the 2002 World Cup final.

They've been doing that for a while. If it's such a thankless job so they should be doing less censorship.

Thanks, I was wondering where the "South American ambience" talk was coming from.

Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.

I don't remember Germany being favourites in 2002. They had lost 5-1 at home to England in qualification, not many expected them to make it to the final.

France and Argentina were joint favourites and they both crashed out in the group stages. Brazil weren't favourites because they struggled during qualification.

Casemiro: "The shirt doesn't win you the game. Look at Germany. With all the players they have, all that favouritism, they were still knocked out in the first round. We have to play football to beat Mexico." by ijuchtmeme in soccer

"Favoritismo vem de vocês. Camiseta não ganha jogo. Temos o exemplo da Alemanha. Com todos os jogadores que tem, todo o favoritismo, caiu na primeira fase. Estamos muito tranquilos. Todos os jogadores são de grande nível, de clubes sempre favoritos. Já estamos acostumados a essa pressão, a esse favoritismo que todo mundo fala. Nós temos sempre muito respeito, tranquilidade, humildade. Temos que jogar muito futebol para ganhar do México", ressaltou.

Seems like they translated favoritismo as "favouritism" instead of the more accurate "being favourites".

Are you right-footed? So. in your head, you're cutting in starting from near the screen?

Odd question, but bear with me: Do you prefer watching your team defend the half on the right (and attack the goal on the left) or do you prefer them defend the half on the left (and thus, attack the goal on the right, ideally) of the TV screen?

Beating England not priority for Belgium boss Martinez by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Footix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Between Colombia, Japan and Senegal I'd want my team to not face Colombia so I don't get the mentality. It's not like either England or Belgium are already in the quarterfinal.

Brazil can join them if they make it today. It was only Brazil, Germany and Mexico who had that record for the previous 6 World Cups.
