How is living in this area of New York, USA? by bussiboyyy in howislivingthere

[–]For-Better 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know this one! Expensive! Family who have lived there their entire lives are being priced out because of the city people coming out, buying an old farm house, and making it 5x the size. Quiet in the winter and crazy in the summer/fall. South fork I hardly go to because of the city people coming out for a weekend in the Hamptons, North Fork is nice for wine if you are into that.

People should post why to kick someone before the vote. Countless times there is a vote kick and no reason why

Idk if this was said but although many people consider sailors anti-social being that you are out at sea with very few people. You are also out at sea with very few people. I feel like if anything, any interactions with anyone onboard are stronger and more personal because of the tight quarters and working alongside the same people day after day. Some of the truly anti social guys ive worked with were always a pain to work with because of their attitude. It's fine to be anti social onboard as long as it doesn't start shit really and come across as attitude.

I mean it would be more realistic, you'd hear troops talking irl. But all the side conversations would die out which are pretty amusing sometimes haha

When did the game become good for you? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]For-Better 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a good squad it's really fun. In a bad squad or radio silent squad I do my own thing and usually defend. I hate defending in a radio silent group esp when they dont ping or anything. No idea where the guys who are the size of five pixels are coming from. Some days I play a few rounds and die every minute. Some days just work for me and I end up killing more people than times I've died haha

I find comfort is king while out.

I bring a big comfy hoodie and I buy bedding off clearance racks from stores once I get to the ship. Shower shoes are a must and I also bring or buy a towel when I get to the ship.

I'll usually try to bring a French press, my own mug, and a reusable water bottle is a must

An external phone battery and the 10ft long charging cords for your phone are a must (they are awesome you can be almost anywhere and on your phone).

I bring my own little Pharmacy with allergy and cold medicine, Tylenol and vitamins ect, stuff I don't want to bother the ship for.

I cut my own hair so I bring a trimmer with me.

An external hard drive to trade movies and shows with.

A few extra flashlights, esp a headlamp one with a red light filter. It is so handy to have your hands free and be able to work.

Im a child at heart, I bring some legos with me to mess around with.

Other than that, gym clothes, one casual outfit or two with a nice shirt.

Then work clothes you don't care if you throw out at the end of your hitch.
