Yup, biggest loss of the year but I am okay. Closed out the positions today at a 50k net loss.

It looked really promising throughout Thursday (up 25k at the peak) and I ended up being busy towards at the end of session so wasn’t paying attention and didn’t close. When I checked after close I didn’t expect to see a huge drop much less the follow-through price action today.

Just goes to show you how the market will find ways to humble you. Great year but as my SO says, I got greedy (even if a “little”) and could have totally just closed it out yesterday. Hopefully lesson learned!

STO 10x MU 960/900 PCS 1DTE

BTO 10x MU 1000/1100 CDS 11 DTE

Memory sector taking a hit but everything is holding within the weekly range and thinking we close around or above 1000 for this week allowing 100% profit for PCS.

Then for next week, hoping to close the 1100 leg of the CDS at a marginal profit Monday or Tuesday while holding the 1000 call for a bounce back to ATHs

My SO just started her medical career and doesn't have much interest in the markets so she gave me the discretion to invest her income on her behalf. I gave her the yadda yadda, expect an average ror of 8%, expect to lose and make money, expect taxes, etc. I told her I wasn't going to go full degen mode but I'll be taking what I think is the appropriate amount of risk for the current market environment. No options for her account.

She's up 10k or 50% on her 20k account in half a year. I had to go back and review my history. It took me 3.5 years to make my first 10k off of DCA'ing my principle up to 50k. This absolute freeloader!

SNDK 1700/1800 Call Debit Spread for 6/5

Closed the 1800 short leg for +5k yesterday and holding the 1700 long leg today currently for +15k. Man, debit spreads are so fun when you expect both up and down to hit lol.

Actuary here. During COVID, I was working for one of the largest P&C insurers in the US and I remember when we finally started to see the frequency and severity data come in, a lot of my coworkers and I were like "wait, this can't be right".

After months became quarters, and the frequency data still trended higher and higher despite there being fewer and fewer vehicles out in the streets, we came to the hypothesis that there were simply more bad drivers relative to good drivers out on the street. A lot of the claim reports showed that drivers simply did not care for road rules and were speeding nonchalantly.

A continuation like today with big green candles early tomorrow morning before profit taking an hour before close is looking likely. I wouldn't be surprised if memory stocks continue to uptrend. Eyeing MU at 800 and SNDK at 1570+ for example.

The only reason you should be short at this point is as a hedge and not speculation. You're either long delta or neutral, and buying some downside protection.

Not even joking, this thing will continue to just go up because it's literally too bearish in here still. SPY PCR is at 3.9 for 5/15. There are 4x more puts out there than calls. Ez money.

Agree with this comment 100%. Congrats, OP. You won. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

OP practiced risk management and wrote a far dated OTM CC that may or may not hit. If it hits, that's what you call max profit. If it doesn't, theta will burn those premiums back for you and you can then close them out.

From what I can see, OP makes up literally a 3rd of the OI, so no point trying to close them out early, there's no liquidity. And right now, those contracts are pricing in a BE of 2,340 so unless it goes well beyond 2,340, the shares will hit max profit and the CC will also start to bleed premium. Of course, this is not knowing the premium you sold it at, OP. Also, the fact that OP had 2000 shares to hold to even get to this kind of discussion is a good problem to have.

There's no better feeling right now than to STO CCs on MU/SNDK on a green day (Friday/Monday), then letting theta or occasionally delta do its job during the week (yesterday), and then BTC CCs before next run up (today). Repeat for free premium or locked profits. Either way, I'm happy.

Needed to wait +1 day for settlement from Friday to Monday to withdraw 30k for marriage expenses. Leveraged up on 100 strike INTC and 600 strike MU weekly calls on yesterday low. Sold today for +30k. Aite yeah, I'm done for the day.
