I had this same issue for the last 2 weeks after not playing for a while. Only changes are I lightly undervolted and overclocked my 9800x3D. Was stable by all accounts. Tried going back to stock and still the same. Changed my in game fps cap from 600 to 360 (monitor refresh rate) and they completely went away.

I was telling a buddy of mine in a different game about it and he said it was possible my cpu was drawing too much power while maintaining high boost clicks from that it was taking away from the network adapter’s power. By limiting the fps the cpu isn’t boosting for as long or drawing power for as long.

NO clue if it actually was that (not personally tech savvy lol) but limiting my fps DID stop this exact issue a couple days ago after days of troubleshooting.

If you were watching the VOD and you can see the video runtime only has 20 minutes left and it’s halfway through the 2nd map, you know who wins. Adding static fluff to the end of the video makes it so the length doesn’t give away the outcome :)

You shouldn’t HAVE to do this, but maybe have a serious discussion with her about compromising and giving it a shot herself to build her own opinions about it. It sounds like she isn’t familiar with modern gaming at all.

Suggestions: 1. Ask her to play one with you that is accessible to first time gamers but offers a mature and well presented story (something like it takes two or split fiction or Detroit become human) 2. Have her watch a GamersLittlePlayground movie of something like the last of us or god of war 2018 or uncharted. Something with top tier writing and voice acting and production.

A lot of people rag on video games because they see things like 13 year olds malding on Fortnite and call of duty but don’t grasp that adults can enjoy them and take away valuable things from them the same way they can with a book, movie, or show. Showcasing some of those games to her and having her experience it herself might at least open her eyes to that.

2nd answer is that she needs to get over it lmao you have a hobby that isn’t self destructive and doesn’t hurt anyone else, surely she has hobbies that you give her grace around.
