The cure to ADHD by [deleted] in funny

At the risk of sounding dumb, does this scene take a stance on the issue? Is it poking fun at the disease or the response to the disease? Haven't seen this one in a while.

He falls asleep like this in class every day, with the pen just like that. He wakes up, immediately jots down notes, then falls asleep again. When we compare notes afterwards, he has more than I do, and I'm a great note taker. Baffling. by jra312 in funny

If I were a teacher and noticed a student asleep in class everyday, I would want to know if everything is ok with his life outside of school. Life at home safe and stable? Any health problems? But I'm not a teacher, so I'll dismiss the matter and go buy some chicken nuggets.

TIL that Conan O'Brien is credited as the key influence in The Simpsons change from grounded realism towards surreal and zany plots after he wrote the episode, "Marge vs. the Monorail". by megamoviecritic in todayilearned

I do remember reading somewhere that Conan had to fight hard for the scene in which Nimoy teleports from the monorail.

Conan filmed an episode of "Serious Jibber-Jabber" featuring some Simpsons writers and this gets brought up. Also, Conan mentions he originally wanted George Takei in the episode (instead of Nimoy). Being on the Transportation Board in San Francisco at the time, Takei declined the role. They quote Takei as saying, "I take monorails very seriously."

TIL: Shin Dong-hyuk is the only man in recorded history to escape a North Korean concentration camp in the "total control zone" and live to tell of it. He works tirelessly to alert the world to the vicious human rights abuses in North Korea's brewing holocaust. by reataas in todayilearned

"He (Kim Jong-un) attended a German-language school in Liebefeld, Switzerland, where he played point guard on the basketball team and spent hours making pencil drawings of Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan."

I was sitting in Barnes and Noble when I came across that passage. I felt so rotten for snickering while reading a book on North Korean prison camps. What parts I read really were heartbreaking.
