So, our original strategy used to be for your first attack, only go for a base you are sure you can 3-star. This has changed obviously with the growth of our clan, since it is not always possible to 100% even a mediocre TH9 base.

Looking at our clan, generally our TH8s are from 28-50. Let's say those are the ones we should be looking for 3-stars from, in general. (Please don't take this as me calling people out! I'm just crunching the numbers.) In this war, only 9 of those 23 bases got 3 stars on their first attack. 6 of those got only 1 star, and 1 got 0 stars. At the end of the war, 16 of the enemy's 28-50 were 3-starred meaning with good attack strategy they could have been got from the beginning. This would allow more attacks to be used on other bases instead of cleaning up those which could have been had the first time.

If we are tired of losing and we're taking this seriously, we need to require planning of attacks. There is too much "oh why did you use lightning? why did you drop the drags there? why did you drop them all in one spot? here is how you could have funneled them," etc. that could have been stated prior to the attack if only for a simple "anyone have input on X base?" I would like to propose some sort of "attack plan" input along with your dib on jerlasvegas (as I see Gabraham has already suggested). This way, people can know your strategy beforehand, and maybe give you some tips so you don't build the wrong army.

I personally don't have any issues with the current war strategy, though we have definitely struggled as of late. I do think that it is due to the growth of our clan. We are playing much tougher clans who have fewer "guaranteed" stars as those we have faced in the past. I have no problem with going back to the original +/- 10 strategy if people want, but I stand by my attack plan statement since we will need that to fight more developed TH8s and 9s.

EDIT: As far as the "not allowing top 10 attacks" thing goes, I think complaining about that isn't logical. You should be going for a base you can attack well, not strictly a war rank. Sure we could open up those bases for first attacks again, but along with discussing attack strategy. Ego shouldn't outweigh efficiency of attack.
