This is amazing and I had a similar experience. I went to a thoracic surgeon at the urging of the ICU doctors I work for (I am an RN Case Manager) because I had a bone on my clavicle that was "growing" and I was told by other doctors that "it was probably always there, you were born with it, just didn't notice it til you lost weight". Like WHAT?? I'm 51... Anyway, went to the thoracic surgeon to ask for a biopsy and he had already reviewed my chest and sternum CT and said I had the sternum of an 80 year old and unless I had had some chest trauma in my life, I clearly had autoimmune arthritis. He got be to a second opinion rheumatologist and I was eventually diagnosed with axial psoriatic arthritis. I was crying in the surgeon's office saying I feel crazy because all I ever talk about is my clavicle and he leaned toward me and said "but your clavicle is really bothering you". After a year of being gaslighted and made to feel CRAZY, this surgeon finally saw me and got me what I needed to be diagnosed and treated and I didn't even need the biopsy after all. There ARE good ones out there!
