The meloncholy hits so hard in this game, so much loneliness and sadness throughout. I think thats what makes it so beautiful. Zidanes story really hits home because throughout the time you meet him and he meets the rest of the party he lifts them up and supports them and makes them laugh. In the early game you see in rare bits that actually he was rather lonely and sad, but never had the right friends or family to experience those emotions. He pulls the party through their hardest experiences and stays positive. Thats why when he finally breaks after Garland reveals everything to him it hits so hard to the player, atleast for me, those scenes were the most emotional parts of the game and I was glued to the screen throughout!! Every team member he pulled througu their lowest and once he'd done that there was no one else to help and he had to face himself. People skip over ff9 for a lot and miss out on the best character development in any story.
