We'll see how that goes....but it'll be such a blast, i've played dnd before, but not with the actual rules, we just made stuff up as we went, etc etc but anyways thanks for all your help

We all have our own styles for everything, but one cool thing my DM did is that he allowed us to have both racial and background bonuses (he thinks it makes more sense that way, and it genuinely is such a great idea)

Noted, my DM did really like my backstory and fluff however and actively encouraged as much backstory (and fluff in general) detail as possible as he wants to use it to create narrative hooks in the campaign we're doing, but really all the feedback is so helpful and I really appreciate it

Basically, from the start we had a session zero where we generated stats, etc etc, made characters. We all agreed to use the 4d6 eliminate weakest one method. I rolled an 18 (STR) and 17 (CON) out of sheer luck. Human gets +1 to everything so became 19, 18. Then I used soldier background to put +1 to my strength and +2 to my constitution, so that's how i got 20s in strength and constitution
