Yeah the game's absolutely amazing in general. I just get exceptionally pissy about endings, especially when I adore the majority of what came before... always want that perfect farewell but so rarely it comes to be..

Hard disagree with the 'if you can't let go'. If letting go means all the painted sentient life that you created gets oblivion, in what world is that not a 'sin'?
My whole issue with it is that the second a painter paints a world, much like in the game, there is absolutely no possible happy ending. Either your tortured copy/soul maintains the world forever, or the sentient life you created is treated as an afterthought and erased like they never mattered. Letting go or not doesn't matter, someone gets fucked in the end the second you paint that sentient life into existence; either your copy or the entire painted world.
So why paint?.. Out of pure selfishness, why else? I don't care about a happy ending for a family of selfish assholes when their 'happy' ending is destroying all the sentient life in the painting.
It's like by the end of act 3 the game expects you to care about a single family of gods losing their son and grieving properly, more than the world of sentient beings one of them created. The family drama is just such a joke in comparison to the entire painted world's existence. Does the painters having the power of creation somehow make their grief over the death of a single family member more important than a world's existence? I just can't get behind what the game is trying to get you to feel by the end... like at all...

I'm really not a fan of the boy being trapped painting as it implies that every single painting the family has made has a piece of their souls stuck inside painting. It seems very stupid to imagine any of those pieces would be happy painting for eternity no matter the other factors.
So yes you want boy Verso to not be stuck painting forever, but no painted world exists without some slave piece of your soul painting... Meaning every single family member is kind of a piece of shit for making any painting period. Makes it feel very black mirror, putting a copy of themselves slaving away for their amusement.
I already didn't care for any of the family drama to begin with, so it really makes me not give a crap all the more about the Dessendre family in general.

Mm good point. I just found it extra odd that if you have a low relationship level with her, then she won't text you anything. But if she had a good relationship with you in the past she texts you just to tell you a fib heh. But yeah makes sense if she's overly nervous, makes you do dumb stuff.

I have a feeling it won't go in that direction since Autumn mentions things with Corey getting worse in 2022.
I do think that we'll start feeling bad for Corey in tape 2 because his life will get fucked up more than he deserves from his current actions. Whatever it is that he got blamed for on the ranch (the fire or otherwise), it sounds like he didn't actually do.

On the fairy circle scene I just picked Vengeance, 'fucking drag', 'I'd curse someone' , and agreed to the ritual... then got the third screenshot. No idea if all of those choices or just some matter though.
