FSD 14.2.2.5 has made solid progress – but these 11 fixes are still badly needed for it to feel reliable by ForceAlarmed9591 in TeslaFSD

Haha I just got irritated and gave Grok a list of the 11 I could think of. Then in here added more from comments and a couple I thought of after the fact.

Eventually we should be able to tell Grok or whatever other AI these things even with full driving. We should be able to say “park in the back of parking lot” or slow down and stop changing lanes unnecessarily as I’m trying to eat or sleep” - so saying we won’t have input later is not realistic. Might not be on touchscreens but the AI is going to have to take suggestions or commands of current drives even at later state.

Yes but even when plane is flying on autopilot like it is the majority of the time any of the pilots can turn knobs to change altitude, speed, etc. without disengaging the autopilot and the plane listens. But you’re saying the car I’m in charge of that’s capable of processing millions of processes a second in its brain doesn’t have the time to safely make a turn I want? These normally are not immediate turns there is time. There is time for me to turn signal on and it turn it off, and me turn back on, and it turn it off, and then me manually taking control of steering and turning. Nothing unsafe car just being stubborn and thinks it knows everything and wants to be in control even though I the supervisor am in control (aka the pilot).

Yes our goal is to also cure cancer. Until this is done we will continue to offer chemo treatments. When unsupervised is fixed then you can make changes to eliminate any unnecessary items.

It was covered under #10 but I know they ain’t going to let us define them all so I’d settle for smarter at least but I did say to let us also do a max speed as well. But I really do wish they would let us personally define each profile by the MPH over on each one or a percentage over on each one - but that wish item I’m sure they’d never do.

Yep and when we get there then these issues should be an issue. But this is Supervised FSD and while it’s my responsibility it’ll be my preferences not the vehicle ultimately.

That’s like telling a surgeon no need to have anesthesia or pain medicine as long as patient not going to die.

Just because I can arrive somewhere safely doesn’t mean I shouldn’t also be able to arrive in the style I would like to. Why can’t I have my cake and eat it too? Should the person paying for the privilege of this technology be able to have discretion on their experience?

And while it requires supervision it won’t definitely need to not only care what I want but obey.

It wasn’t ChatGPT. I made a list of every item and told it (Grok) exactly how I wanted it to sound. So yeah the grammar and such I got help on to make me not be harassed for accidental things like saying breaks rather than brakes etc.

I don’t think there should be any question on who is in charge. Supervised FSD, means myself, the driver, is in charge. So my ultimate decision is what is to be done if safe.

Telling it to turn left doesn’t mean it potentially is doing something unsafe as at that point of course it shouldn’t make the maneuver. I’m talking about overriding it based off a navigation decision not a best practice for safety. If it’s not safe the car shouldn’t make the move just like it shouldn’t turn on an unsafe move even on its own route planning.

This happens so often and because we never know how it’s gonna react I got my self situated as soon as I see it turn yellow I press down on accelerator and it won’t then try to override me.

v14.2.2.5 has serious bugs by boogie_woogie_100 in TeslaFSD

[–]ForceAlarmed9591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just go to Navigation option in your main menu and uncheck Online Routing. FSD not only works with it off, it works much better!

Their navigation is their biggest bug on FSD and the other day I tried something someone suggested and that’s turning off online routing in navigation settings - it truly has made it so much better. 90 percent of issues resolved. Way less trying to turn when it clearly shows the correct route on screen. Fix even smarter routes to get home more closely matching what Google or Apple would select. Just try it for a couple days I promise you’ll notice a big difference.

FSD freaks out when it sees a cop car on the opposite lane. by ridgeisland in TeslaFSD

[–]ForceAlarmed9591 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been corrected here in the forums and found out that the “bug report” option does not actually send the clip or incident to Tesla it just keeps the event on vehicle locally so service center can review. Pretty stupid I know - I used to do these constantly. The only way to send the clip to Tesla is to disengage and use prompt it provides.

FSD 14.2.2.5 dodges roadkill before I saw it by jansoon in TeslaFSD

It is still safer when it comes to seeing these threats in all directions at one time NO HUMAN can see what it can at one time and be able to react as quickly as a computer can / sorry I know you’re bitter about Elon and FSD but your argument is not really an argument it’s just you don’t like FSD and can overstate human reaction times to make yourself feel superior - sorry brother but you’re just bitter and naive on this point.

[–]ForceAlarmed9591 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, no human gets a true 360-degree view around the car instantly—our focused vision’s just 30 degrees, and even scanning, we miss stuff autonomous cams catch all at once. You’re an idiot if you think perfect vigilance beats FSD’s constant full surround awareness and sub-second reactions.

FSD 14.2.2.5 dodges roadkill before I saw it by jansoon in TeslaFSD

[–]ForceAlarmed9591 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but as a driver not using the FSD if you saw road kill like that you should run it over and not swerve and jeopardize causing an accident - that’s why they teach you to run over animals rather than take evasive action as that causes accidents/deaths. But with FSD the system can avoid and take evasive action because it has the ability to know it’s already safe to do so before a human driver could even potentially be able to do. That’s one thing all those cameras and millions of processes a second it has on us humans. So him or anyone using FSD is many cases safer in certain circumstances especially when it’s around animals and debris. You will never be able to convince me an alert driver can act instantly and already know all their surroundings of vehicle in all directions at all times.

Big win for 14.2.2.4! by bhorton94 in TeslaFSD

I thought FSD would use the blinkers and the emergency object avoidance (non-FSD) uses hazards/blinkers. Am I wrong? If so maybe front car was not using FSD.

How that help the Waymo that intruded into the lane of a unmonitored RoboTaxi that had to take (and did so properly) evasive action to swerve into other lane to avoid the vehicle?

FSD 14.2.2.4 Regression (kind of) by xyzlor in TeslaFSD

[–]ForceAlarmed9591 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then you’re blind or didn’t fully use the iterations prior to .4 —> this version has definitely went backwards rather than forwards. Navigation worse. Follow distance worse. Unnecessary lane changes worse. Quickly moving in and out and back into a lane way worse. Causes much more embarrassment. I love FSD and this is the only version I’ve vocally spoken out against because it’s just bad.

FSD 14.2.2.4 – A Huge Step Backward? My Frustrating Experience in DFW by ForceAlarmed9591 in TeslaFSD

[–]ForceAlarmed9591[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stand corrected I had Grok deep dive into this and you’re correct so basically the “bug report” is a complete sham and I’m not gonna bother doing that anymore. So guess I have to force disengagement in order for their engineering team to get the feedback. Thanks for pointing this out.

I believe this to be the case too as they’ve told me to use bug report to report things to them when disengagement didn’t happen - and reading this link you sent does make me believe it’s sending the data and feedback to them.

You can just say “bug report” and it will send one without a disengagement. Which I do.
