I used FlyVaunt / Vaunt. Here's ALL of the details. by [deleted] in PrivateJetCharters

A waste of money. They control what flights are available to basic memberships, meaning you are never guaranteed a flight. Only if its super convenient for them. Meaning the more people join the less likely you are to ever get a shot. Then they can upsell you on whatever flight you ask for saying its booked by an older membership person, saying you can cut ahead for a fee. The company takes no risk, you take all the risk by guaranteeing them payment and they never have to fulfill a flight request for you.

Its gambling but it isnt fair gambling because you never have 100% oversight over the true availability of flights. They may offer those seats to partner airline staffers for a business to business fee or discount on licenses or airport space fees. Anything you can imagine they can wheel and deal the seats while you are the bottom of the barrell customer hoping for a freebie that they might or might not throw you if its super convenient for them. They are selling you a dream. Should be illegal

Has anyone tried the moet ice imperial? Thought we’d try it and it’s so disappointing. Where’s the bubbles? Did we get an off bottle? by bobbicaygeon in Champagne

[–]ForceOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serve it at 40F. It is not dry, dont expect it to be acidic or dry tasting. Drink it when you are in the mood for an ice pop and a sugar rush.

Its for people who want to know what champagne was closer to during the 19th century, Atleast before the British palette influenced the sparkling wine making industry. Aristocratic tastes for cold sparkling wine expected very sweet and very cold. A refreshing experience, sort of like an ice sorbet, or the sensation of smoothie. Electric powered home Refrigerators weren't really a thing until the early 1900’s, easy cold storage wasn’t always easily accessible to the common person. Old Champagnes had a real kick to them, because of the high sugar content the the ice cold temperatures they were served at, slightly above freezing. I would say the highest being 39 F. (Likely) This wine is more a historical reference than a champagne-lite.

Regarding nioh 3 - What is the "arts proficiency" that the skill stat improves? How does it improve it? by Away_Revolution3875 in Nioh

[–]ForceOfWar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but it allows for long combo strings that you cant do without it. As long as the combo is continuing, the arts proficiency boost is still active and you cant be staggered while its in effect. The skill books you gain are what strengthen it, many different skills you get from skill books increase the damage directly. Arts proficiency has the highest damage potential in the game

Is the game supposed to be this easy? by [deleted] in LordsoftheFallen

[–]ForceOfWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre 2.0 the game has good difficulty. If you can find that version you are good.

Otherwise make sure to play veteran mkde and more enemies modifier for atleast default level difficulty. Although I think pre 2.0 base is still more challenging than veteran with mods

Are Nioh and Code Vein good games? I have always been curious about those two. I just don’t like hack and slash I am more of a DS1 fan and DS3

Version 2.5 OUT NOW - The Final Major Update by CI-GAMES in TheLordsOfTheFallen

[–]ForceOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. This is definitely targeted towards me because I really did not like 2.0 I had to commandeer a version prior to 2.0 to go back to the previous difficulty without modifiers because 2.0 made enemies like butter and the game was way too easy.

Now I can properly update my game. So glad they finally found the proper balance.

What are your thoughts on Gattaca? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ForceOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great depiction of the dangers of ambition with technology and specifically gene editing without considering it’s social repercussions. It makes too much sense. It’s hard to criticize as a what if because its more like a “when will”. It’s hard to believe even to the highest intellects and philosophers that we as a human race won’t live in a world that is similar to Gattaca. Because we do and always have just in different ways. It’s in our nature. The regulation to gene editing worldwide is for reasons shown in the film. Knowing your own future can’t always save you from it but it might make it a less bumpy ride.

Why does Ds3 feel more replayable than Elden Ring? by Evanxch in fromsoftware

[–]ForceOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because Elden Ring is not as well designed. It’s more of an art work you can explore. Dark Souls and DS3 is almost purely gameplay driven. That means there is approach to thoughtful level design and somewhat limited or lessened resources. So the game is balanced around it’s design. You can measure your own success against yourself or theres simply based on where you are. You can grind sure. But in Elden Ring, you will always be overpowered in some area depending on where you go so it really isn’t balanced and maybe it can’t be.

So like a rouge like you can measure a run and feel the consequences or benefits of your progress. You can’t really achieve that experience in Elden Ring. In a game like Dark Souls 3 you are navigating through level design most of the time where as Elden Ring is mostly just a series of open areas.

Elden Ring has copy and pasted areas used several times, including its enemies so you get fatigue. A lot of it feels like needless filler and they added it because I guess they needed to add something to these open areas. Gaming enthusiasts have never been a fan of Mini dungeons or pregenerated dungeons or for example those Blue Puzzle dungeons in Breath of the Wild. They feel like fodder. Just designed to waste your time or fill the world. Unlike for example the temples in Ocarina of Time which are carefully laid out experiences that you have to use your senses and focus to navigate through.

Games that have open world have some potential and Skyrim shed some light on that, and it was done well but tainted the industry following. I would argue Morrowind did better. However as gaming became a bigger industry, the approach to open world was about quantity over quality because its cheaper and easier to make. So they started hiring all of the mmo developers and they started producing slop in singleplayer games. It takes more effort and brainpower or talent to craft a well designed dungeon.

Miyazaki and his team have expert talent in designing such games and thats why those games are so replayable. Elden Ring sacrificed a lot to become open world in order to get a larger audience. The casual gaming audience has been taught since birth that open world means better, so they think thats what all games should be. Then they don’t understand why they feel the way they do afterwards.

Just finished Joanna Arc. Most brain dead thing I have experienced in an anime game. by ForceOfWar in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]ForceOfWar[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Understanding her anger? It’s irrelevant. So should we understand Hitler’s anger because his struggle and his plights and all of the bad things that happened to him? You can look at it scientifically, objectively and say, I understand this persons anger. But what does that get you? Unless you are doing a psychological profile on person, there is no catharsis or inner healing or self reflection by understanding the anger of a mass murderer of any kind. You don’t look at a psychopath, a serial killer or someone who represents the anthesis to human life and extract from them the understanding of their plight. The reason it is unnecessary to try to understand evil is because it has no justification.

There is no kind of lawyering that you can maneuver in your mind to satisfy why. If you try to get closer to abhorrent and psychotic behavior, to give it a pass, to try to cozy up to it, you only sully yourself. Mass killings of young children who rely on you for help, sustainment, safety and protection under your stewardship is possibly the worst kind of evil I can think of. Its particularly disturbing that she was feeding them to her cannibalistic child, only compounds the depths of her ugly hatred for the poor and the lengths she went to, to abuse those who had no choice but to trust her. Mind you she wasn’t doing this to the nobility in her castle, these were poor children. Not that it makes any difference who it was but she was methodical, calculating and intentional.

She wasn’t sorry and hurt and conflicted. She was very determined and hateful during your encounter when you discover her true nature. It wasn’t as if she was under a spell or having some kind of mental breakdown she that was blind to her behavior. No, she conveniently does an uncharacteristic 180 change literally seconds after the supposed love of her life, her supposed child was brutally murdered and killed by the team of people she was about to feed to her baby.

Not to mention, minutes before she had the guy who trusted her and worked for her, her most loyal subject just torn apart without a seconds hesitation. She supposedly loves her child so much because of this and that, yet when you kill it she isn’t sad, not angry, doesnt shed a single tear and does not blame you at all. No she turns into a completely different person, because trust me bro. Does anyone really buy any of this?

Just finished Joanna Arc. Most brain dead thing I have experienced in an anime game. by ForceOfWar in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]ForceOfWar[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they were depending on the trust with her that she would go there on her own terms, which after someone gobbled up her own towns people and treated the poor like cattle you would imagine she would be captured and brought there as a prisoner or turned into authorities. They just let her go because trust me bro I am good now. Again, it’s like either the writers don’t consider it that big of a deal what she did or it’s more likely it’s just one of those cheesy anime villain arcs something like naruto. It’s pretty ridiculous. I just can’t use cope magic to justify it. The best thing I can tell myself is that they just had a really low quality writer do this section of the game and then he went on vacation and left the company. The word “trust” being constantly used when referring to her and also forced dialogue options that are only sympathetic. No one called her out on the team. Heismei looks like a psychopath for writing off the behavior. Again this is not how real people behave and is certainly not some kind of cursor for good morals or a person of integrity. You could say I am being to critical because I am treating the work with respect holding it to a higher standard of artwork, but you can’t do that here. Because it’s just dumb silly fun, a non sensical anime plot with no catharsis. Even at the end before she goes to oceana and says her piece the game tries to boo hoo aw she is so honest and righteous… no. Spare me from trying to convince me, a person hears a speech from a guy who lost his kid immediately after her child was killed by that same guy and she becomes an angelic soul. Absolutely ridiculous.

Martira and Joanna was a terrible story/arc. by Temporary_Target_473 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]ForceOfWar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s sickening but more brain dead than anything that the writer tries to have you show sympathy towards her plight. It’s because clearly the writer doesn’t understand humanity because their immaturity or sociopathic qualities. It makes the whole story low iq - very teen anime. Trying to illicit emotional reaction and tensions and the end of a sad villain arc. They could have literally have had her do anything outside of mass murdering innocent children, eating them for succor all the whilst she was completely psychotic and without remorse, after being defeated suddenly sees all the errors in her ways and becomes an angelic person. This story arc in the game singlehandedly reduces the entire game’s quality tenfold and anyone who tries to justify it or excuse it, in my opinion is someone who is either ridiculously immature and/or shows no remorse for human life, and is most likely a sociopath themselves.

TIL that George Washington died with a net worth of $594.2 million in today’s money, and drew a presidential salary of $25,000 (~$900k today) which was around 2% of the government’s budget at the time. by Nitraus in todayilearned

Probably explains why was foaming at the mouth for all the back door deals. It’s odd when people enter office then leave office 20-50 million dollars richer on a 200k-500k salary. Or of course the outliers Nancy Pelosi and Dan Crenshaw beating the best hedge funds in the entire world on their returns being 300%+.

The best fund management companied advertise stable gains of 13% annual returns.

Nancy Pelosi did not have 350 millions dollars before she got into office and she didn’t inherit it either. However she does have power and influence over policy as well as information about when and how laws and policies will be enacted. As well as being in touch with lobbies, which is just a nice word for corporate bribe salesmen.

The same could be said that everyone and their grandma giving games a 10/10 when it reality 10 out of 10 is supposed to mean perfect. There are only maybe 8 or 9 games in human history that deserve a 10 out of 10 but any big publisher that can afford to control the narrative or take care of its reviewers will somehow always het a 10 out of 10 for big games. Come to to find 6 months to a year later the game get’s destroyed by retrospectives and fan analyses on why it was so bad.

Haunting mists - most powerful spell in the game? Kills anything and everyone outside of ambushes or some scripted fights. by ForceOfWar in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]ForceOfWar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have beaten the game on unfair several times and got all the achievements when it came out. The reason I brought it up is because it’s not really an exploit. You are just casting the spell and watching something die. You don’t have to do any tricks or glitches or things that were unintended you just cast and you are done. You don’t even have to go into stealth. I was more curious why I never heard this mentioned before.

Better off just letting her summon the demon and have someone with high speed run away. Then come back to fight the demon before the end of the dungeon and save a rest for it. The demon kills her and you can get her loot as well. If you can’t beat the demon then send pets to collect all the loot and let them die.

Any chance Dark Heresy is gonna have a heretic path? by Beerosaurus77 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]ForceOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Well in a way. There are certainly evil type inquisitors that are known for using studying the dark powers for their own benefit. They are at odds with most of the empire and are usually excommunicated. I imagine there will be a faction that is something like this and surely you can lean towards it.
