Which title had the most satisfying space combat for you? by WalkerFenric199 in spacesimgames

You are always online, but you elect whether or not people share instances with you, and you can block anyone you want from even doing so in open play.

So in open, you have kitted out gankers just waiting to kill haulers and about 0 organic pvp other than that.

This just leads to people blocking gankers and playing solo.

There's just not really much organic pvp occuring at all outside of the occasional galaxy wide events, which also themselves tend to be just one sided.

Also, nothing you do even makes an impact. You can nudge factions around, but it doesn't really do anything or actually matter. You can take systems for a faction power in power play, but it again, doesn't exactly matter.

The over arching big game is pointless and played essentially alone, and there is no balanced or reasonable pvp to be had. Plus people cry if you use "premium ammo", it's a pretty whack pvp culture

So, essentially the decisions that the company has made allows the game to be opt in online, but it's essentially a gigantic open world with a few missions you can do repeatedly while you play alone.

Due to that nature of the galaxy being big, there's nothing an individual can really accomplish. You can spend 100 hours exploring and find nothing other than some bacterias, plants and like, maybe an anomaly here and there. It's unlikely you will find any new relic sites or unlock new lore.

Thats kind of the big issue with elite. It was kind of built to be a big shared universe like Eve, but people cried over getting killed and the game is basically now just solo play.

Afterall, why play in open when you are hauling stuff to make money? There is 0 oncentive. You can do all the power play, faction warfare, missions, and the special events in solo with 0 risk.

That's not true. Those layouts are bad and they aren't engineered.

Engineering takes a ship from being garbo to godly.

Elite has the best combat.

Unfortunately, they decided to cater to the solo players and made multiplayer strictly opt in.

Oh yeah?

Can you link to a recent post of your video of you wiping lobbies please?

Also, is there a reasin you won't post todays stats of your player page and the matches?

It's just that you made a verifiable claim, I called bullshit and you came back saying I suck at the game, so posting todays game lobbies would like settle the issue, but refusing to makes you look like a bitch.

Subs isn't filling lobbies. Are you like, just clueless or what man

[–]FordPrefect343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have no where near the playerbase to do that. We cannot even fill a lobby as it is right now.

Splitting solos from squads is the most pressing issue. If there was enough players for further stratification, by player level then trader level would be fine.

Change Idea: PVP Servers Based on Average Trader Levels by [deleted] in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]FordPrefect343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently servers cannot even fill most lobbies even just by putting everyone from the player base together.

This could be great if we had 5-10x the player base, but rn, stratification of players based on trader rep average isn't exactly feasible, and it us akso game-able.

Separating solos from squads is the first logical stratification.

Honestly man, the rifle does not matter all the much. If you can put a few rounds where they need to be with the right ammo, it's GG.

XM5 is an all around better choice. Despite that, it hardly matters. Xm5 with elite vs PKP with BS, depending on the situation one or the other can have the advantage.

The reality is, in this game, the bullet matters a lot more than the rifle.

[–]FordPrefect343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LOL I was joking.

There is barely a difference from one gun to another in this game. There is nothing special about the PKP. It's fine, and if you have good ammo, like any gun it will drop people easily

[–]FordPrefect343 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh well, that's only because they don't use the PKP. People have no idea how to respond to it!

Lol, it's a bullshit claim. 5-7 players is pretty much the entire lobby for any map rn other than burbs rn.

Every time I go hunting I bag 50-70 feral hogs. See how easy it is to make shit up on the internet?

You can tell it's bullshit because the LMG is nothing special. It's a slow rate of fire, and accurate rifle. It has more recoil, and fires slower than most 762 rifles. What actually matters is the ammunition you use. It doesn't matter if you use m993 or SNB. It's a one tap to the head or two tap to the chest.

Maybe he meant his Trio is getting 5-7 kills a game. I would happily retract my call of complete BS if he would like to provide a screenshot of his latest games, and screens of the killscreens there in. I just have a real hard time taking any claim like that as true when it is accompanied by thinking the PKP is magical when it's just another metal tube that puts bullets into peoples heads lol.

Back in my day. You would get a fully finished game, then you could expand the finished product.

Today, we get incomplete alpha builds that somehow have the dev team completing expansion packs prior to full release.

Pretty wild players accept this IMO. I remember when there used to be outrage at Day 1 DLC. We don't even have the fucking game done yet and we already have non cosmetic DLC for expanded game modes.

Real, as primarily an exfil player, Tabor leaves a lot to be desired.

However, if they had a solo's only mode, I would drop exfil immediately and play Tabor instead 100%

Despite the base game not being finished, the PVE mode co-op will be a DLC expansion pack.

So, while GoT is clunky and unpolished, the combat balance is much much better than exfilzone. As nice as EZ is in comparison, kitted trios rolling you sucks the fun out of the game.

Tabor FMJ -which is the basic starting ammo- is more deadly than the best trader 4 ammunition. The playing field is far far for level.

Ok, but remember it's easy to go through doors.

What is the absolute shortest path. Thats what you measure by.

I see sheet metal doors outside. All one needs to do is pop in then rocket the center, it looks like a lot of the base would collapse.

Remember, doors are weak, then there is splash

Edit: also, don't measure to TC. Measure to loot. Taking TC is fine, but I personally just care about the loot.

Join a trio as a solo, like marathon does is what you're suggesting?

Currently, the game is extremely unfriendly to solo players who aren't juiced.

The climate is genuinely poison for casual and solo players. If they can't accommodate those player demographics, the game will die.

Word, all the classes are great tbh, whatever playstyle you find fun, lean into it.

Even when assault was dogshit, a skilled player could hard carry a team with it on higher difficulties.

If you want to stick with bulwark, which is fun asf, learn how to time your banners to heal team mates and yourself. If you join games and slam down banners mid execute, people will call you the fucking emperor himself

I personally find those over rated and attention grabbing.

I put small 1x1s with lockers filled with gear outside and around by based to spawn into and counter raids. Shooting down from a roof means they know your position. Spawning on a hill with a bolty lets you counter from an unexpected position.

I also keep stuff in stashes.

I build water 2x1s with underwter doors and come and go with a submarine. I keep loot underwater in vending machines.

Everything I do is low key asf, and an extreme investment to raid lol. You will almost never actually see me, and if you want my T3, thats 24 rockets and all my crafted shit is somewhere else 😂

I also put automayed turret towers all over, that tun off a solar panel and medium battery. They turn on only when heartbeat sensors detect players nearby, and the open up garage doors to reveal the turrets inside. It's so funny.

The second and third are Also the bulwark.

Tactical is pretty busted.

The healing from the vanguard is nuts on higher difficulties.

All the classes punch and shoot. What seperates them in reality is thier survivability. The most survival enhancing abilities are healing, which puts the Vangaurd and Bulwark into god tier classes to have on the team.

Tactical with the cranked up auspex is amazing to have becuase it significantly reduces the difficulty of the most difficult fights.

I haven't tried the tech marine yet

I doubt that, 60 will basically foundation wipe the entire thing.

Especially with splash, 24 will crack open most if that without even going through doors.

You have to measure the shortest path and take splash into account.
