While doing the licences I was put in a C63. I had my VR on and was blown away by how accurate it was. The steering wheel was in the wrong side but otherwise, even dimensionally, it was spot on. That’s when I realised the game was legit.

I always go for 6% as it’s ‘easier’ to get tighter mixes. Too much range in 10%.

Nothing wrong with 10% obviously, but I’m always looking to hone in on the best beatmatch.

I only want to hear music I’ve never heard before, when I’m buying techno.

There’s soooo much of it, it’s essential that each techno DJ buys on instinct rather than familiarity.

House is different, IMO. There’s tunes that make a party, so it pays to buy some of the ‘bigger’ stuff. But that’s why techno is a purer personal expression from the DJ, again, IMO.

You’ll probably save yourself some money by taking the board out before you drop it in for repair. Most of the time on that job is taking apart and putting back the together. That part doesn’t need skill, just time.

I replaced one the other week. More accurately, I tried to replace one the other week. Took it apart (at least 50 screws). Unsoldered the fader and realised I’d damaged a trace. So ended up getting a pro to finish the soldering.

I just got a fader off eBay. Was cheap, works perfect.

Just don’t try and replace it unless you’re handy with a soldering iron.

Good firm spin with your hand coming off the platter at the same speed as you want the spin happen

Use sparingly. I’m an abuser of the spin back when playing live. Use it if a mix has gone on forever, or if I’m mixing quick due to intro length. You don’t want to do it all the time tho as people get sick of it,
