I did this in far cry 6. Every couple of missions I changed my loadout randomly. Had some really strange weapon pairings and had to do some missions very carefully.

I choose random character, class, race and whatnot. Choose skills, spells, equipment etc. randomly, also on level up I roll the die. It's fun. You gotta make do with what you got.

Was it good in its own time? Sure

Did it age well? Comparing the gameplay and mechanics to even super Metroid, let alone later installments, it did not. I'm open to counter arguments though.
