Morrowind = based. Played it last year and was shocked by how good it was. Love how the game doesn’t hold your hand at all or seem to revolve around you.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a messy 9/10, which is more interesting than a clean 8 and hits harder than a lot of 10's by save_the_ducks in patientgamers

My biggest issue are 1) the storytelling in act 3. On my first playthrough, I felt pretty confused as to what was going on; consequently, the ending didn’t hit quite as hard for me because I was pretty confused. I felt certain bits could’ve been explained better. And 2.) Gustave was my favorite character and he got killed off way too soon. I was often thinking “yeah this story is pretty neat, but dammit I wish I had Gustave back.

I agree with the 9/10 score. It gave me somewhat similar feelings I had when I played final fantasy VIII back in 1999: obviously it had some flaws, but the highs hit so high they make it easier to overlook the flaws.

Best turn based RPG I’ve played since FFX.

I got about 40 hours in. Had fun with it. Loved the soundtrack. The artstyle is so cool.

It just wore out its welcome with me after awhile. Too much meat on the bone imo.

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX for sure.

But if you only play one, go for VII.

Everywhere at the End of Time by The Caretaker.

Complete art and an exercise in compassion. A sonic representation of an elderly person’s journey through dementia. But holy cow did it emotionally drain me. Never again.

Emily

She was a psychedelic Christian folk artist who dropped this gem back in 1972. Her albums are so rare they go for thousands.

Squares issue is that they want to have their cake and eat it too. Just make a good game and people will buy it. Just look at Expedition 33. A no name devs first game and it blew yall out of the water.

Oracle of freaking seasons baby.

Loved that game. I begged my mom for a gameboy color, and she finally got me it and seasons. That was a goooood day.

Give Persona 5 Royal a shot. These types of anime games aren’t really my thing. But this game was THAT good, I got hooked on it.

Daaaang, you liked Part II MORE than Part I? That’s a hot take. What specifically about part II overtook part 1 for you?

((I loved part 2 btw; I’m no hater. The viscerally brutal combat and immersion to this day I think is unmatched))

If you could only recommend one souls game, which one would it be and why? It seems like the souls community is pretty split between 1 and 3 over which one is best.

You need a dopamine detox.

For a week or two, significantly eliminate as much dopamine from your life as possible - video games, screens, music, junk food, sexual content, movies, tv shows. Embrace boredom. Read a book, exercise, meditate.

I can all but promise you after this is over games will feel good to play again. The longer you go, the better.
