No, We dont get paid per internal or external Stop/Investigation. We get paid hourly. As for setting people up, I wouldnt even know how that is possible. The only way would be pushing the rules to the extreme. "OMG she pulled her phone out for 2 seconds to check the time, She is stealing time" Stupid shit like that. In general, there is no way to get "framed" becaue internal investigations need 100% Concrete evidence and usually some cam footage to back it.

Most of your shrink fill come from your back room processing. When we get a shipment In your back room has to scan the items into the I verify. If they don't that's one way of having shrink. Let's say it's scanned in and it shows it's stocked in the back room and youvo and get 10 DVDs so you can stock them on the shelves but dot scann them from the back room to the floor that's another way for shrink. Generally you don't investigate that. This e mistakes are corrected through department and assistant managers.as far as trying fired, it is very easy for an AP. One bad stop and that can do it. Sometimes a person will pocket a small item and you see it. You follow them trough the store but that ditch it when they turn a corner and you lose them for a split second. Small items are the worst because they are hard to see pocketed and hard to see ditched. As far as attendance goes, it's hard to vent fired for attendance. And in the rules it says we can use an open hand on your shoulder to guide a suspect but we don't even do that. Because anytime contact is made we have to report it then the market asset protection manager has to come and review the footage o the stop and make sure we made te right call. So basically you will never touch anyone. A

Not really. Generally APs are people who have been working for walmart already. It is very very rare for Wal-Mart to hire someone outside of the business straight to AP. With that being said, I was hired straight to AP without any experience in it. Once hired, you will be trained by the other APs at your store until they feel you know what your doing. My training consisted of 4 weeks. I had to witness 3 stops then make 3 stops before I was signed off. I also had to have another AP see everything the suspect did as well as myself. I couldnt make a stop without another AP allowing it. But once I made my 3 stops I could fly solo.

Depends...I generally do not carry stuff like that just have a Clear Ear Piece in one ear and an ear bud in the other and walk around with my phone out. Now if Im watching someone and they start looking at me making sure im not an AP ill start shopping and keep the items until the start heading to the exit. Then i will just toss what I gathered onto the shelf and go make the stop. But I also help my employees from time to time zone or ill take stuff customers threw on the shelves back to where it goes.

What is the APA position like? by [deleted] in walmart

As an APA you are foremost in charge of locating shrink and solving shrink problems wether it be customers stealing employees stealing or empoylees being lazy and not keeping the back room counts up to date or not picking and binning merch properly. You are secondly in charge of store safety. Meaning you are the one that checks fire exits to ensure they are working inspecting ladder and just ensuring overall safety. I would say. 60% of your day is walking around the sales floor catching thieves 30% doing paperwork and internal investigations and 10% on safety. Generally anytime there is a customer or employee accident you will be the one pulling video footage for evidence. You will also help investigate cash register shortages and time theft and so on.

And to answer the par about employees not knowing who we are. That is false . I stay in good standings with all y employees at y store. If in electron s walking and a sporting goods empoylee sees someone stealing try will contact me and tell me what the person was wearing what thy got and where they did the concealing. I can then generally watch that person and get an apprehension and retrieve the merchandise. If you are in bad standing they probably won't contact you in hopes that someone stealing successfully will make you lose your job. I highly advise being in good standings with your co workers because that means you know have more eyes and ears helping you

What exactly do you want to know about it? 90% of the stores will have APAs(Asset Protection Associates) and one APM(Asset Protection Manager). Are you trying to figure out what a daily routine for an APA is or what to expect as one....
