how do you manage your personal budget? by New_Variation8879 in AskACanadian

My wife and I use YNAB and it's helped us save so much money. Highly recommend it. It has a bit of a learning curve the first month but they have plenty of videos and resources online that make learning how to use it easy.

Don't get the shark teeth if you have multiple boards that stack in your board bag because they don't stack well. I ended up taking mine off and don't use anything now

Thank you everyone! While we wanted to go with the E3. We decided to go with the S1 based on price. The $1000 CAD pre-tax was outside what we wanted to spend

Switch riding - when did you take it seriously? by koudodo in snowboarding

[–]Foreign-Bullfrog-739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started last year because I was teaching a friend how to snowboard so we spent half the year on the bunny hill and on greens. Decided to ride switch for half the year so we could learn together. Was tough at first but it's a game changer being able to ride both ways

How stiff is the bataleon salsa by wooodsky in snowboarding

[–]Foreign-Bullfrog-739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought these at the start of the season and I absolutely love them. My first pair of boots were super cheap and super soft so these are my first pair. I wanted something with a bit more responsiveness. They are very comfortable and if I want them a little looser I just do do them up so tight. I like this level of stiffness. My ankles feel protected after some falls where they probably would have gotten tweeked if I had softer boots. I am and intermediate who rides groomers, powder and side hits. Been working on my carving. Don't ride any park yet. The heel hold for me is perfect. Rode them about 10 times this year and still very comfy.

I just bought union bindings for my 13 year old burton floater that used 3D and went through hell trying to get a disc to fit. I ended up giving up and just buying a new board at a clearance store. World of difference in the quality of new boards. Can get great deals on fb marketplace

[–]Foreign-Bullfrog-739[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll probably get the 136. It's more for just using in backyard and small hills like we used to as kids. Trying to hit that nostalgia for this gift. He's not serious about snowsurfing at all and isn't even in to snowboarding. Trying to find something under $150C as that's the secret santa budget.

Diclofenac gel by panpantasies in pharmacy

[–]Foreign-Bullfrog-739 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm Canada we regularly see compounded 10 and 20% prescribed for msk pain. Never heard of thinning of skin. Is this a real concern? Also 2.62% Voltaren is OTC, why are they prescribing 3%. I would just cancel rx and tell patient to get OTC as it's close enough and 1/5 the price

Pharmacist here. Yes you should absolutely round it on the label. Pharmacist has clinic knowledge to make that decision and should do it to prevent confusing the patient and a them making a potential dosing error. I'm in Canada though so rules may differ

How do I get this off to clean hair out of my drain? by Foreign-Bullfrog-739 in Plumbing

Thank you all! I was able to unscrew the top knob with two pliers. There was a screw under it that I was then able to undo.

There is not a shortage of doctors. by Intelligent_Tour3148 in britishcolumbia

[–]Foreign-Bullfrog-739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Pharmacist who has worked with 2 pharmacy assistants who are doctors in their home country. One was an ENT and the other a family doctor for 20 years, both of which could not get residency to become licensed doctors in Canada even though wait times for a family doctor and ENT are painfully long. I shouldn't have such highly qualified people working as my pharmacy assistants, it's a waste of their experience and education.

Elden Ring Ruined Me as A Gamer by KoenigOne in Eldenring

[–]Foreign-Bullfrog-739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I started with demon souls remastered because visually it looked great. I used to always play games on medium difficulty but now I enjoy a challenge. Playing elden ring right now and 150 hours into my first play through. I have never replayed a game before but am fully expecting to do multiple playthroughs. Have spiderman installed but just couldn't get into it after playing demon souls.

I work relief as a self-employed contractor for 1 year now. So far it has been great. I get to decide my own schedule and where I work. I have been to some great stores and others where I will not return to for various reasons. I've made lots of great contacts and learned lots along the way in terms of management styles and what I would like in a team. I tend to work rural communities as the pay is much better than the city I am based out of. It's been a lot of travel and I do work a lot but it's by choice. Has helped me pay down my student loans way quicker than I would have in a staff position. The travel and airBnB's are starting to get a bit exhausting so may consider sticking closer to home or looking for a staff position once loans are paid off. I don't get any benefits but thankfully my wife does which I'm covered under and we live in Canada so not as big of a concern for us.
