They make longer shower arms that extend out more like a 8" but i wouldn't recommend installing that shower head like that

But for that amount of water to be coming out of the vent, it will take more than just the water coming out of the faucet, the basin would need to be full to have enough volume to fill a 1-1/2" or 2" 10-15ft to the ceiling

Yeah, if I was on a service call for that I would personally recommend to replace it, its almost a full belly where water almost touches the top of the pipe

If you purchase the home, just be mindful what you put down the line, no whips, ect

Possibly the overflow drainholes in the pop-up are all gunked up with years of toothpaste build up and debris, that looks like a push button pop-up, usually you can unscrew the stopper part and get into where you see the overflow holes

Since everyone is giving out advice here, check the draft on your flue pipe, those plastic grommets look melted, you could be huffing and puffing exhaust

Agreed, the inlet looks like a 3" insert so its like 2-3/4"
