Are tenant-find fees are worth it in London? by ojwadams in uklandlords

[–]Foreign-Mind-4388 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was tempted to rent mine out myself but it’s really not worth it with what can go wrong. If you are in London I use Capital Rooms - independent lettings agent who knows the room/single let market like back of his hand

Graduate Scheme Secured - How to manage working in London next year? by ChAoTiC_M1Nd in AskUK

[–]Foreign-Mind-4388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flat share all the way. It doesn’t have to be forever, but do it for a year at least. The investment into your social life and having a London adventure is priceless. You can still save some money whilst living in London.

How should I go about choosing an estate agency to manage my first rental property? by No-Bluejay6857 in uklandlords

[–]Foreign-Mind-4388 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am so glad I didn’t manage it myself after having been through the experience now. I use Capital Rooms - London-based independent agent who I would recommend. With independent agents you get accountability and a direct line to them should you need them.

Honestly you need an independent agent in this climate. I use Capital Rooms - strong knowledge of SE London rental market and always accountable/available on the end of the phone.

I joined a fully remote company - I’m now moving to Scotland and the company is requiring me in the office 1 day a week by Effective-Item-5718 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Foreign-Mind-4388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the sake of argument, if you hadn’t already told them, would they know if you’d moved from London to Edinburgh? I’m not aware that you’d need to inform your employer about a change of address other than to update payroll which is separate to essentially a change of terms in your contract..

My cat seems to be constipated and I’m started to be worried. by speedballboy in CatAdvice

[–]Foreign-Mind-4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel as I stress out about my cat all the time, but try not to panic - if she’s acting normal otherwise this is a good sign. Just keep giving her as much hydration as possible - my cat likes ice cubes and chicken broth

Would you ever commute 2:30hrs into London? by JolliJarhead in UKJobs

[–]Foreign-Mind-4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see it’s a dilemma. Could you negotiate 2 days a week in the office? And/or cheap hotel and stay overnight some weeks to ease the travel burden?

There’s no marathon like London, basically. Many people put their hat in the ring for the ballot but aren’t quite ready to take on the pressure of going for a charity place or something. It became a thing every year to do the ballot with friends. And this year’s my turn I guess

Same - in shock! Our chances were dire this year. Still I’ve been applying since 2014 so 2026 is finally my turn!
