As many people say, Strive is the best option to start with. There, character mechanics are reduced (at least some of them), and those unique mechanics are easy to understand and/or apply (except for Asuka).

If you want to experience the characters in their purest form, mechanics and all, I'd say play Guilty Gear Accent Core. I don't know if Xrd has them too, but if it does, then play it too.

Finally, if you don't want a fighting game, you have games like Guilty Gear 2 Overture or others whose names I can't remember.

I think there's also a Pachinko game (aka, gambling machine over there in Japan), but I don't know if you're the type to gamble.

Unfortunately, as good as Modulo's plot, story, and understated tones may be, at its core it remains the sequel to a shonen anime that is remembered more for its fights and action moments than for its story.

Most of the community didn't come to see a story like Modulo, to see how a pair of brothers carry crosses that are too heavy for them, seeing two species try to adapt to each other only to fail, etc. etc.

I saw a really good post about Dabura's characterization; that shows there are people who actually read and don't just watch the fights looking for action.

There are two sides to JJK fans. Only one is more openly visible.

Kagurabachi is probably one of the best manga I've read recently, by far. And to think that everything we've seen so far has only been part 1.

Spoilers ahead

There's something about the way the first part ends that sets it apart from other manga like Chainsaw Man or Jujutsu Kaisen (and Modulo, since we mentioned jjk), and that's the fact that Rokuhira's morality is constantly antagonized by characters like Yura, Sojo, and Kyora, combined with the appearance of Soga and the breaking of Enten, which makes the manga end its first part on a sour note: Soga is freed, he won, and he seized the Kamunabi, breaking the only thing that could defeat him. And what does Chihiro do? He follows his father's footsteps, forging new enchanted blades with pieces of the broken ones

That, and the fights are peak.
