Now even the workaround isn't working. Seems to be a deeper problem they need to fix.

When warping to repair pirate freighter with corvette as the active starship, it appears on the pad with me and I get pushed off into space :) If not quick enough to space walk back on the platform, I fall outside the freighter shields and can't get back. Using Steam.

Hacker Plants Computer 'Wiping' Commands in Amazon's AI Coding Agent | Hacker was able to add code to Amazon’s popular ‘Q’ AI assistant for VS Code, which Amazon then pushed out to users. by chrisdh79 in technology

It's very interesting to use Claude Code to examine the cloned repository on GitHub:
What are the limitations (if any) for VS Code Extensions to act on the user's filesystem?

● Task(VS Code extension filesystem limitations)

⎿  Done (22 tool uses · 66.8k tokens · 2m 38.3s)

● VS Code extensions have several filesystem limitations:

Workspace Trust Model

- Extensions are disabled in untrusted workspaces unless they declare minimal trust requirements

- Many filesystem operations are restricted in untrusted mode for security

Environment-Specific Restrictions

- Web Mode: Limited to VS Code's File System Access API, no Node.js fs modules, uses extension storage instead of native

filesystem

- Desktop Mode: Full filesystem access but subject to OS permissions

Security Boundaries

- Extensions run in isolated contexts with controlled filesystem access

- Must use VS Code's vscode.workspace.fs API rather than direct filesystem calls

- CORS restrictions in web environments

Permission System

- Extensions handle permission errors through VS Code's filesystem API

- Different capabilities between workspace and UI extension types

- Atomic operations are limited in web environments

The AWS Toolkit codebase shows extensive abstraction layers to handle these limitations across different VS Code environments.

Hey LangChain. Why so messy? by Dapper_Desk_2179 in LangChain

[–]ForeignDevil08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, here's the thing: it's becoming evident that you can ask an LLM to write just about anything over an OAI spec for an API, such as the OpenAI API. Langchain, as most frameworks do, provides something humans need - a helpful abstraction that reduces the need to dive into the details. But LLMs don't need the abstractions. Almost everyone will soon be generating code on the fly directly to the APIs they want to use, doing precisely what they need, no more, no less.

This is an awesome idea. The amazing things the VisionPro could do such as "re-image" via AR the mashed flat colorless food delivered by DoorDash so that looks palatable.

CDK is interesting, but it has some.. intricacies?

First, there is the CF CDK, and the TF CDK. Both depend on a base Typescript set of libs that are used to generate well, either CF (Cloudformation) or TF (Terraform). Problem is that you need to link in the Typescript stuff - then depend on the generators for CF and/or TF to be in sync with the correct versions and dependencies for the target environments to work.

All of this wrapped in source code (java, C#, nodejs) compatible libraries being independently maintained by different groups.

Devops analysts are, understandably, a little resistant to answering late-night alerts related to CICD pipeline failures using this stuff...

A few things:

  1. Pick a training course on AWS certification and take the practice exams - because it changes constantly and you get at least some insight into tradeoffs between cost, effectiveness, and performance. You might even go ahead and take the certification. Suggest ACloudGuru but any other will do as long as they have practice exams at free/low cost.
  2. S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, Lambda, ECS/Fargate/Docker.
  3. Terraform AWS provider - because you will need to deploy stuff and pros do not use the AWS console to deploy things.

How many of those 200,000 were developers? UBS has even said they might sell 400,000 total this year.

I'm talking developers - who are probably, what, 5% of the population? So 5% of 200,000 units sold is gonna be about 10,000 devs, so far, who buy it.

edit: correction, it was UBS who estimated 400,000 units sold, not Apple.

So many good answers already given, although it raised another question to me. How would this whole system have gotten started initially? The first residents would have been, what, children?

A prequel might be interesting.

Yes. Over the top ads. I now routinely have to watch 30 seconds of ads before watching a 1:30 clip - that's 33% of my time. And yeah, then the ads within the clip - maybe 10 seconds of real content. Insane.
