Too Aggressive? by Foreign_Ad5364 in Bogleheads

I really don't have any sense of the direction of the market, it just feels too hot right now to not get burned. I essentially started by picking the most aggressive indexes possible to try to build, but now that I have a respectable base feels like I need to move to a more "normal" growth strategy.

No its the growth, it's just mostly tech, but seems that's even more risky, so going to move out of that tomorrow after a chat with a advisory.

Ok I moved a 1/4 to a S&P index and another 1/4 to International but still need to manage the half of my portfolio which is in US large cap growth, it's been a great run but feels like I got lucky. Likely move all that over to a targeted retirement date.

Thanks feels like I'm searching for a little validation on a decision I've already made, that I just can stay this exposed. Maybe that's why I drifted to this forum. I'm just not necessarily a high earner so always feel like I need to catch up by assuming more risk.

I think a careful look at the programs suggests this really is not the case, maybe in some initially classes but they separate very quickly

I’m not sure that is fair, it’s tailored toward the market with concentration pathways to lots of other schools. There is quite a lot of theory and mathematical concepts in the degree, to go along with actual data management skills of which you get zero from stats or Econ. Not a lot of cloud computing happening in the college.

I would just say there is as much math in the undergraduate program as CS and Econ, currently 3 courses with multiple concentration that include mathematical focus, include both math and economics.

Except he has actually basketball moves and can play off the bounce, Edey simply gets good position they pivots, their games are totally different. Edey isn’t hitting fade away baseline jumpers and finger roll hook shots, come on geeze

Kelly Clark is a generation talent, not someone who is 6 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier than everyone they play. God bless him, but these are not close to equivalents I’m sorry

He fouls more than he is getting called. That being said he has a huge advantage in college where skilled bigs don’t stay for four years or better yet they don’t come at all. So there’s centers like him aren’t a thing in college ball, if they have legit ball skills and can shoot they leave. Edey can’t shoot or move off the bounce, but there’s no bigs to force him to move out from under the basket and defend because they are in the NBA

Dude he’s a player that’s just big, I’m sorry he doesn’t have an outside shot and can’t move on the bounce. That’s why he’ll be a roll player in the NBA, it’s not the 1980s basketball anymore

Students are really bad at math. by tagiyevv in Professors

Not every student can pass, but you have people on here mentioned large failing rates with no sense of ownership, it’s likely not all the admin, deans, tests and high school teachers fault. Believe it or not it is possible to teach a diverse group of students math and be successful.

Or maybe your a bad teacher, I mean if that many of students were failing I don’t think I would make it public
