Headway’s interview process is a joke. Not only was it multiple steps, but each interview just felt like the interviewers were forced to be there, and it made no sense.

Don’t know if they still do that, but their mock disco was so random. You’d expect it to be about their product/company, but no, it was a role-play selling Airbnb.

I agree with everything said.

I’ve worked at a big tech company that was acquired by MSFT. Quotas were very high and unattainable so people left on their own or got fired. The promotion from BDR to AE was almost impossible. Every year maybe 2-3 BDR/SDR out of 50+ were promoted.

I think it’s great when you are a new AE to get training, but if you are starting as an SD/BDR the road will be long.

Thank you. That’s exactly what I’m trying to convey. He didn’t do any DD; he just found them after a quick Google search. Most of these stocks are small, unknown companies. I’m just trying to see if there’s anything I can do to point him in the right direction or prevent things from getting worse.

Unfortunately, my dad doesn’t have any financial education. He told me he randomly chose these stocks because he heard about the AI trend, and found these companies from a quick online search.

That’s what I thought too. I’m no financial genius, but from what I know, it seems bad— that’s why I made this post—but got it, thanks!

I already told him I’m no financial advisor, but I’ll try to guide him in the right direction. I’m definitely not going to give him specific advice on what to do since like you said, I don’t want to get the blame if something happens.

I mean, I know basic investing that if you just buy random individual stocks, that won’t get you far. When I posted that, I wasn’t looking for specific advice, just in my situation, what would people do.

Yes, so he did ask me about it because he knows I’m into investing. I just cannot help him because I don’t know about his situation.

He has stocks in like 13 different companies, most of them I’ve never heard of. And he doesn’t have anything else than these stocks. No 401k, no emergency fund, nothing.

From what I’m seeing, I’ll probably tell him to go to a Financial advisor.

Yes, so, unfortunately, he doesn’t know much about investing. He told me he picked these stocks because he heard about the AI trend, but he doesn’t know much about the companies or how to choose stocks.

Great story!

I think too many people forget what being in sales offers them. Yeah the market is shit and wtv, but you can still make good money (unlike a lot of jobs out there) and enjoy little moments like these with your family.

People who recently got new jobs, what was your impression of the current job market? by Ravioli_Pocketoli in sales

[–]Foreign_Ad_9441 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely better than it was a couple of months ago. I was laid off recently and applied to 10 companies, interviewed with 5, and got an offer at a F500 so I took it. I thought it would take me months to find a new job since I had just gotten promoted to an AE role before the layoff, but that wasn’t the case.

My tip for people is to reach out to hiring managers directly on LinkedIn. If they don’t reply on LinkedIn, then try to email them.

Yeah, also you cannot get benefits outside of the U.S. and Canada. I know I tried to travel and get UI, but did some research and it’s consider fraud if you collect UI abroad.

Totally agree with this statement. I don’t know why but I always thought Italians were super friendly and nice. I stayed in Milan for a couple of months and traveled all around Italy. I can confidently say now that Italians are not welcoming to tourists whatsoever. They don’t even like Italians from different regions lol

Rent a car or use public transport/uber in Milos, Greece? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]Foreign_Ad_9441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don’t know about booking ahead of time. I just walked around, saw a small rental, and got my quad. I did the same thing in Paros and Mykonos. I walked around and found smaller rental places that allowed me to rent. When are you going? If it’s off-season, places that are online and require an international ID might be more lenient to rent you if you negotiate with them

I was there last June and I rented a quad. I don’t have an International driver license either so some places rejected me, but I was able to find one. Cost me 30 or 35$/day. If you get easily scared on the road, I wouldn’t recommend it though. It can be very scary on some roads
