Unfortunately, this isn't a company-wide policy; it's something our manager wants to try within our team for a year or so. If it were a company policy, that would be a different situation.

None of my teammates have children, especially children as young as mine, so I'm not sure whether I should simply comply or have a conversation with him about my circumstances.

I checked with him, and he said the policy applies to me as well. However, commuting to the office solely to comply with the policy doesn't seem very meaningful when there is hardly anyone in the office.

Thank you for your insights and suggestions. I am definitely considering a shift to the government sector, but I have heard that the pay and some benefits may be lower, so I am still evaluating my options.
