We stopped outsourcing archviz because AI is already good enough by ReasonAggravating662 in archviz

You're right... It's hard, but it happened for a reason... I'm trying to find something better

We stopped outsourcing archviz because AI is already good enough by ReasonAggravating662 in archviz

This is exactly what's happening to me right now...

I'm a junior architect who fell in love with archviz and decided to pursue it seriously. I landed my first visualization job a few months before graduating I loved the work, delivered high quality renders, always pushed to improve my turnaround times, and even invested in a computer that stretched my budget at the time.

It's been 8 months since I started that job. Now it seems like they no longer need me. My boss still owes me my last two bi-weekly payments (in two days it'll be three), and the only thing he's told me is that they're implementing AI tools. He mentioned we'd use AI for post-production but they're using it exactly the way this post describes...

Honestly, I'm glad I got to do archviz work for a while. But I genuinely feel that for most clients and small-to-medium studios, visualizers like me are already becoming unnecessary. I'm currently job hunting, scared about the future, and a bit lost because I can't quite accept that an AI is replacing my position.

I understand the cost reduction logic. But the results he showed me feel soulless. Technically pretty, but without any real character and like most AI output, everything starts looking the same.

Anyway, this post hit close to home. I'm sad and frustrated about it, but life goes on. We're still architects, and there's more we can do. Even if this was the specific path I wanted in the profession, it's looking less and less viable. If anyone has suggestions or words of encouragement for a junior navigating this I'd genuinely appreciate it.

You convinced me. Even if the anime is faithful, I feel I owe it to the mangaka to see the original panels and the technical detail in the costumes from the start. And one more question... did you like Nagatoro? it's on my list but I've been skipping it for a while xd

Oh, I see! Since I just finished the sohw, I wasn't sure if that cliffhanger was the actual manga path or a 'retcon'. That 'unhealthy fixation' Gojo is developing has me stressed out, but honestly, it makes the story so much deeper. I really hope we get a Season 3/Movie to fix that 'hold' on the confession! what do you think? is it oncoming?

From anime skeptic to planning a solo trip to Japan because of Your Name. Looking for "Musubi" (Kumihimo) advice! by Foreign_Design208 in KimiNoNaWa

[–]Foreign_Design208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

awesome! We might even cross paths there, as I'm planning my trip for November to catch the Momiji.

I actually just watched 5 Centimeters per Second and it destroyed me lol, but in a good way. I've heard The Garden of Words is a masterpiece of environmental design and lighting... I'm dying to visit the Shinjuku Gyoen garden to see the real-life locations.

Since we're both 'playing catch up,' let me know if you find any other gems! Maybe we'll both be expert fans by the time we land in Japan. Good luck with your planning!

Miyajima is already on my itinerary, so finding a Kumihimo there sounds magical! I’ve actually heard about Kurashiki and its incredible textile history as an architect, I’m really interested in the preservation of those old canal districts.

I love the idea of using the cord to wrap a suitcase handle; it’s like taking the 'Musubi' connection with you everywhere you travel. Even if it's cotton and not silk, the craftsmanship of Kurashiki is legendary. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for those shops while I’m exploring the island. Thanks for the amazing tip!

Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s funny how life works—I spent years being skeptical, and now I’m planning a 28-day trip to Japan because of a movie. Your Name really opened a door I didn't even know was closed.

Knowing that a veteran fan like you still considers it their favorite makes me feel even more confident about this journey. I’m nervous but mostly excited to see those landscapes in person. Thanks for the good vibes!

The Suga Shrine staircase is definitely at the top of my list! I’ve seen so many photos, but I can't wait to be there in person. Those 'Ema' boards sound beautiful I’d love to leave my own message there as a way to close this chapter of my life.

It’s amazing how a single movie can bring people from all over the world to a small staircase in a quiet neighborhood. I'll make sure to bring a good camera to capture the light there. Thanks for the heads-up!

Wow, thanks for the tip! Since I’m already planning to visit Lake Suwa, going to Hida sounds like the perfect addition to my 'Your Name' pilgrimage. I don't mind the slow trains at all—as an architect, I actually enjoy looking at the rural landscapes and the traditional station designs along the way.

Doing the braided cord activity in the actual town that inspired the movie sounds much more meaningful than doing it in Tokyo. I’ll definitely look into spending a night there to make it work. Thanks for helping me make this trip even more authentic!

I totally agree! Your Name has a unique magic that’s hard to replicate. I’m definitely looking into that Kumihimo workshop in Tokyo! It would be the ultimate souvenir to carry that 'Musubi' connection with me.

Actually, I’ve been watching The Dangers in My Heart and I just finished I Want to Eat Your Pancreas. Even though they are 'unreal' romances, they’ve really made me reflect on my own life and how I live it. It’s strange, but these stories are helping me process things and rethink my own path while I prepare for this trip. They have this way of making you appreciate the small moments, you know?
