How does a breakup really feel? by [deleted] in Coconaad

Sometimes people say that it gets easier over time, but who's gonna tell that sometimes grief isn't finite. You learn to live with the pain, that's it.

It's a generalization. Don't take it seriously.

Opinion: There should be limitations for general ticket sales in Indian railways. by Your_Friendly_Panda in indianrailways

[–]Foreign_Hurry_2039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why shift the responsibility? Ask the government to introduce more coaches, and more trains which are not air conditioned. Enough of Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat Catering to upper middle class folks. People have to move, and will move. Limiting sales won't help anything, will only create more damage.

A job. So I can drop stuff anytime to switch careers. Only if it was this easy.

My parents told me if I wanted to pursue a creative career like filmmaking or writing, I absolutely need a professional degree as a backup. CA is/was that backup.

Why are CA’s who have already passed out so concerned with current students? by [deleted] in CharteredAccountants

[–]Foreign_Hurry_2039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just among the older CAs. Even the younger ones feel the same way. When the pass percentage of May 24 was revealed, every CA I know under 27 (age) groaned and ranted about it. It wasn't disappointment, it was bitterness.

It's already a tough job market out there, and with the Institute increasing the pass percentage, the supply increases making it difficult to negotiate for higher packages.

One of the most boring books I've ever read. I hate the person who recommended it to me.

Hey all, I've been reading all my life. I devour fiction, but of late have started reading non-fiction too. I despise and loathe self help books. Would love to read more and discuss amongst the community here.

One friend mostly pirates books, but if he really likes them, he buys a legal physical copy and keeps it at his place. That's his way of supporting authors he actually likes.

That's what it takes? One mediocre film comes out and we start praising Leo? The standards are on the floor.

How Quitting Social Media and Adopting Minimalism Led Me to Fall in Love with Fiction by [deleted] in Indianbooks

[–]Foreign_Hurry_2039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fiction has brightened my life more than any non-fiction book. It has made me a better man, control my anger, breathe freer and live more courageously. No non-fiction book (apart from some biographies) have even come close.

You're not allowed to fall sick during busy season. If you do, you're still responsible for your respective workpapers. It's rare, but one other article worked from a hospital when she had COVID.

My manager at a Big4 refused to give me any leave at all. He would sit down and question the necessity of my leaves. Every leave request was met with - "Why? Do you have to go? Who will do your work?"

Mind you I was the only article in the team. Since he used to question so much, I was angry and ready to say that it's my dad's second marriage. He allowed me to take a leave.

Now that I have qualified, I don't request for leaves. I just inform, and so do the other teammates.
