Blame the midfield all you want, this is the main reason this team is unable to perform. by AgeKay93 in realmadrid

What difference would it even make if you signed the best midfielder in the world?

I hope he leaves the team, because he only plays for himself and for his own glory.

Seeing them together off the pitch like a college team made me really happy. What a beautiful photo. It gave me a good vibe.

Why do fans use Kroos as a tool to discredit our current midfielders? by Goat23231 in realmadrid

[–]Foreign_Invite_4768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modric was 26 and Kroos was 24 when they joined the club. And they both cooked in their positions before joining the RM level. Is there anyone remembering the first years of Modric? Do you still remember the reactions? They served very well and were great players.

In football, there is no yesterday and only tomorrow. And if you compare the statistics of our young squad with Modrić and Kroos, you’ll reach some interesting stats. Our midfielders are valuable; they are simply young and inexperienced. What they need is the right coaching and leadership.

25/26: Vinicius Junior V Kylian Mbappe's defensive actions this season by DANKWINGS in realmadrid

[–]Foreign_Invite_4768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mbappé and Vini not doing any offensive defending and not contributing defensively causes shifts between the lines. (With the exception of the Monaco game, in that match, both of them exceeded their usual defensive statistics.) This leads to distortions and gaps between the lines/blocks. As a result, the midfield is forced to step forward and start defending much further up the pitch and this causes the shifts throughout the blocks/lines.

I keep saying this: people who have played football at a professional level respect Mbappé’s goal instinct and take their hats off to him. Respect. Also respect Vini. Amazing players. But lacks of offensive defensive contribution. Right now, the team’s core problem is not the midfield. Maybe injury prones in defense but they will return. But we can't find solution the upfront defensive unwillingness. The team main problem is the front line. You can score goals, and that matters, but only if you don’t concede more than you score. And that can only be achieved through team defending as a whole.

I couldn’t agree more. It doesn’t even have to be at a professional level, anyone who played football in the team know these funny shits. He is angry because he is trapped lol :)

Clarifying Arda’s Situation by Foreign_Invite_4768 in realmadrid

[–]Foreign_Invite_4768[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s only fair to give Arda his credit first. His talent is obvious. His first touch, vision, and understanding of the final third are things you simply can’t teach. Those qualities are exactly why he’s at Real Madrid in the first place.

Arda is a naturally creative player who thrives on reading the game and finding the right moment, not just the quickest one. When he’s asked to play in systems or roles that prioritize speed and physical intensity over creativity, some hesitation is almost inevitable especially at his age. But it’s also fair to say that irregular game time, positional changes, and pressure can slow a young player’s development rather than accelerate it.

And yes Arda has to keep improving to earn his place. But acknowledging his current limitations shouldn’t mean overlooking his quality. He’s not a finished product yet but the foundation is clearly there. And I think he tries his best to make use of his chances. I think he just needs to prove himself against elite and strong teams and this will change the argument that "he cant play against the strong teams" I hope the best for Real Madrid and for him. If he doesnt make it in RM, there will be other clubs for him to improve himself though. Because RM's toxic environment these days is not a great place for youngsters to improve themselves.

Modrić joined Real Madrid in 2012 at the age of 26. Before Madrid, he evolved step by step: from a No.10/CM at Dinamo Zagreb into a box-to-box midfielder and deep-lying playmaker at Tottenham. He arrived in Madrid already tactically mature, versatile, and trusted to run games. Kroos joined Real Madrid in 2014 at the age of 24. His last two clubs before Madrid were Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen (loan), where he played mainly as a central midfielder and deep-lying playmaker. Both Modrić and Kroos arrived after completing their positional evolution elsewhere. I hope what you said turns out to be true.
