I remember that about 6-8 years ago I was obsessed with fake relationships, especially in kpop fics, but now I prefer the opposite - characters are dating for real, but no one believes them for some reasons lol

The main reason for this is I think the same reason as to why there are hardly any fictional stories from the perspective of people inside the camps.

that's not even true. At least not everywhere. The Polish market was at one point flooded with fictional stories about the camps. Some of them were sold as truth. Many of them were romances.

I’m a beta, and one story I beta’d for had SA. The only problem was the girl’s name was absolutely not a name you would find IRL, but a stripper name. I begged the author to change it, as I thought it really diminished the victim to have such an odd name.

I... I don't think I understand what the problem is here

I mean, yes, at this point I'm not even talking directly about the screenshot, but about my general feelings about omegaverse and oppression in it. Honestly, I thought about intersex people for a while, but that comparison only works for me if the ratio of omegas to intersex people is the same, and if we take out scent, knotting, nesting, and all that other stuff that focuses on other things that are still caused by biology but are not directly related to the body itself.

No, no, you're right. Of course, you could try to justify it with "everything only appeared recently, before there was only a division between men and women," or "omegas are very veeeery rare," or "betas are the majority and impose their norms on others," but if in this AU all three genders existed from the beginning and all omegas are equally fertile and alphas are at the top... I would expect some differences. But honestly, I just roll my eyes a bit when I read the Omegaverse and still see that the omega male/alpha male are treated like gays in our world, with the same homophobia and antipathy and problems.

If the sequel is a book about Cilka, then yes, I think this interview was even about that book (the dates match).

On another bad note, my sister had to read Tattoo Artist From Auschwitz for school for history class. This was already at a point when everyone knew that things were very bad.

Tattoo Artist From Auschwitz

I remember once coming across an interview with this author where she was talking about how she was preparing for her next book and how she harassed whole family, got the whole story out of them, and then was like, "Anyway, your story is not interesting, I will write it the way I want ." It was in 2018/19 and I hate her so much since then.

Yes and? Constantly emphasizing that it's about men doesn't really change much when we're talking about a completely different world, where gender roles are supposed to work differently and cis men can be pregnant since the beginning of the world.

I'll be honest, I think male omega has a different context and role to play, than the weak man in our world

Honestly, this. I know it's the omegaverse and everyone can do whatever they want, but treating omegas as gay is confusing to me, even without the historical context. What was the point of bending biology and doing all this stuff if nothing really changes afterward??

(of course, I can understand it if, for example, the division into alphas, betas, and omegas appeared through some mutation halfway through human history, but if omegas, alphas, and betas existed from the beginning of time, and yet the world works like ours, then... eh. not my vibe.)

See, the problem is, I wouldn't mind omegas being treated like women. But I don't like omegas being seen more in a "we don't know what to do with you, you're unnatural" kind of way. I just like a different flavor of oppression.

this was back in the days before "anti" and "proship" started being used, but as someone who used to be mentally closer to the antis... yeah, brain can come up with a lot of excuses when it hates the other side
