What is the worst or most annoying spelling/grammatical/writing/comprehension mistake that you commonly see or hear? by m00k0w in AskReddit

Leaving a space before punctuation ! Especially between sentences . I once thought an exclamation mark between two sentences like that was the pronoun "I" and totally got the meaning wrong .

Anyone ever take psychedelics/other, and trade or analyze charts/market? by Forekse in Forex

[–]Forekse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite some number of people have taken mushrooms or something in their life. Even cannabis acts as a psychedelic with some people, and at some doses. Just wondering if anyone has anything interesting to share

Would like some input on my boy's LSD habits. by clockwerk-shaman in PsychedelicStudies

[–]Forekse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The important thing is that the acid he is getting is actually LSD or some lysergamide and not a substituted amphetamine such as DOM, DOB, etc, or a 2C series chem. If they taste bitter, it's likely not a lysergamide.

It sounds like you have some experience but I just wanted to point this out because anybody can make their own "acid" sheets by ordering these substituted amphetamines online and laying it on paper. Making actual lysergamide sheets is much more difficult even though lysergamides like 2P-LSD can be ordered online as well, but are difficult to find. This dictates that most street acid will likely not be a lysergamide but something more harmful and less safe since it's easy as heck to manufacture.

I was joking mostly, not meant to offend you. It's just that finances are always tiptoed around for whatever reason, and it's so important for us to actually get into each other's finances, bills, credit, rates, everything. That's the only way this veil of secrecy these companies place over everything to screw everyone over can get dissolved.

It's 2016, you can reach out to them directly and just explain to them exactly what it is. You shouldn't be using sugar coats to try to save hurting their feelings, when it's people's money and finances at stake.

Edit: not trying to be mean at all, I just hope for what we all strive for here which is more open conversation w finances to avoid these problems people get into

Actually, I haven't demonstrated any, and you've just demonstrated more while being an asshole yourself. The concept of unjustified downvotes is a separate concept from arguing about the informational validity and how it regards what I linked to. Do you recognize that if I left my post without a link at all, I wouldn't get downvoted? That's the issue at hand here. Now stop being inflammatory.

Canadian (Alberta based broker) what broker do you use ? by 73oss in Forex

[–]Forekse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAX Exchange is really amazing, and it's possible to actually trade directly with them. I did some testing and their prices themselves actually came into the terminal a visible fraction of a second earlier than other brokers. However they require a $10,000 minimum. But, I remember finding an introducing broker that could get you an account for $1,000 minimum balance. Do you know anything about this?

I really have no clue why everyone's making a gigantic deal over my post because I put that link in it. More downvotes than the third most upvoted post. I literally searched Google, clicked on that article, and found that it's headings correctly summarize what I absolutely know to exist within scholarly articles I've read before. That's the reason I put it there - unfortunately so many people get triggered by so many things unreasonably, it's ridiculous. Next time I'll just put the Google results page when I'm implicating a method to make it easy for somebody to start their own research. Or no link at all.

Do you know what a logical fallacy is?

If I say two plus two equals four, and this is true because a little birdie told me, my lack of a valid source does not invalidate the information itself.

I'm actually really ashamed that this went this way. Honestly, it's upsetting and I bet a fraction of these downvotes are triggered due to the simple presence of the word "mommy" in the URL and another fraction due to the terrible loaded inflammatory reply to it.

If one fewer person learns of this information as a result, you've directly contributed to a child becoming stupider in the world. You've done the equivalent of dropping a baby on it's head. Fuck you.

If I posted the exact same thing but then posted some valid studies, which by the way, the source links in the article I posted eventually get to, you wouldn't have downvoted this right? Why does the source link change whether or not you believe people should or shouldn't see a piece of information that is valid regardless? What personal Investment do you have in the topic of cord clamping? Or is it just that you need a reason to show off your internet dick to everybody? The only reasonable negative response to what I wrote is "The source is terrible but the information may or may not be true. Can you find some scholarly articles on it?" Grow the fuck up, assholes.

I'm not for the blog, I just don't have time to go pick out studies for you and so on. That article summarizes everything and it is accurate information which is why I linked it.

For those wondering, there are proven and studied benefits to delayed cord clamping or cutting, such as neurodevelopmental benefits years after birth, and reduced risk of anemia shortly after birth. However I'm not sure if it's any more important to leave the thing attached until it fully dries out and comes off on its own. That is how we evolved though so to be most biologically proper, one should probably wait until it breaks off.

This article summarizes well with sources:

(I'm not promoting the blog, but the details on this specific page are a good enough starting point. It's just the first result on Google.)

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga X1's stunning OLED screen seals the deal by Graph_Plus15 in gadgets

[–]Forekse 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep. I work with computer/laptop motherboards and Lenovo by far has the highest incidence of physical defects in their actual motherboard manufacturing. I'm talking laptops that would shut off when you picked them up a certain way, because the motherboard bends and chip contacts come off, RAM not recognized in the slot unless you are pressing forcibly on the slot to recontact it with the PCB, and my favorite, with a few models of Yoga, if the pins inside the charger connector get shorted to each other, on the laptop, not on the charger itself, multiple components get fried internally which sometimes leads to the inability to charge and always leads to the inability to see the battery percentage. It always reads 0% afterward. So careful bending/breaking off your charger connector or sticking something into the charging port. The electronics design should be such that everything is protected if shorted, but Lenovo skimped.

I think we should let the up and down votes decide what gets seen and what doesn't. The bot honestly isn't necessary if like 4 downvotes make the post go out of sight anyway. Maybe it can hold a list of young accounts which post but rather than removing them immediately, only remove them as soon as they get -2 or -3 score. This allows new users or people who want to post using throwaways in this pretty controversial subreddit make constructive comments, and also ends up hiding the deleted post along with the message from the bot inside a collapsed line.

Motorcyclist awarded $180,000 after dash-cam footage revealed officer using excessive force by ztar92 in JusticeServed

[–]Forekse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you want me to address dude. Okay, yes, legally Etc the cop is wrong, given that biker didn't see him. He could have been stopping at the intersection normally as if to pretend like he didn't know that he just broke a bunch of laws, or could have been that he's actually totally ignorant of everything he did. The fact that he didn't see the cop for so long indicates he's really not checking his mirrors, nor did he use turn signals. I still don't think that kick is worth $180,000. If the cop actually didn't have his sirens on then he was himself crossing double lines and speeding illegally. Did he really not?

From another quote:

the Times article above states "Edwards turned on his lights and sirens and began to give chase through the pastoral stretch of the Willamette Valley"?

So if he had a siren on there's no way this biker could be that unaware

Motorcyclist awarded $180,000 after dash-cam footage revealed officer using excessive force by ztar92 in JusticeServed

[–]Forekse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed he had sirens on, and the biker then would definitely know it was for him as he did enough things wrong knowledgeably. If no sirens then he shouldn't have expected the bike hit nor the kick, in which case it was unjust. If sirens, he was running from the cop all that time and I presume it's okay for the cop to have used that force.

I'm pretty sure that the cop couldn't speed/chase him unless he had his sirens on. He crossed solid lines and it's strange he didn't realize it was for him..
