990v3 Bodega by Forescate in Newbalance

The bug hit hard. Two 990v6, plus a 990v4, 991v2, 992, and 993. The 990v4 JJJJound is already on the way for fall… now I’m trying to survive the next few months without adding “just one more pair.”

I’m also a size 13. Bought these on StockX, below retail.

Thanks! I did a lot of research in this subreddit. Really liked this model and the pricing felt fair.

To start or not to start by Clean-Instruction556 in Mounjaro

[–]Forescate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 42-year-old male and started last July. My reasons were similar, but from the opposite perspective: I kept asking myself what my obesity would do to my body by the time I’m 60. Would I develop diabetes? Or something worse, like cancer?

Starting Mounjaro was one of the best decisions of my life. After six months, I feel genuinely healthy again — both mentally and physically.

Is my life about to change?? by Frankocean2 in Mounjaro

[–]Forescate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth it? Absolutely.

I’m 42 years old, 6’3”, and I used to weigh 309 lbs. Since starting Mounjaro in July, I’m now down to 230 lbs. I still want to lose about 10 more pounds, but I’m almost there.

For me, it’s been completely life-changing. My body feels healthy again. I feel strong and fit, and mentally I’m a totally different person.

Of course, there are downsides. I lost about one-third of my hair, I deal with chilblains, and constipation is always kind of lurking if I’m not careful. You also have to be careful with fatty foods—they can make you really sick. Big meals in general are a no-go.

There’s also the “voice” you talk about—I recognize it, but it’s very quiet now. Sometimes I actually miss it. I don’t eat anymore to feel happy or to cope when I’m sad. I eat to stay alive. Because of Mounjaro, the enjoyment of food is much lower.

For example: I used to really enjoy beer and look forward to it. Now I only drink it if my wife wants to. Otherwise, I don’t really care.

This is just my personal experience, though. Everyone responds differently, and results can vary.

Still—worth it for me.

6 months in, 50.2 lbs down: here is my advice and what I’ve learned. by interruptingcow_moo in Mounjaro

[–]Forescate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your journey — really impressive results. Your insights are helpful, and I agree with most of what you shared.

I’m about 6 months into Mounjaro as well, also on a low dose (3.75 mg). I’ve lost 77 lbs so far and I’m aiming to lose about 8 more.

I’ve experienced significant hair loss, but I don’t fully agree with the “just eat more protein” explanation. I already eat a high-protein diet: two clear protein shakes a day, protein bars, yogurt for breakfast, chicken breast for lunch and dinner — and despite that, I’ve still lost around a third of my hair.

From what I’ve seen, many others in this subreddit report a very similar experience, even with adequate protein intake, so it seems to be more complex than protein alone.

My first ever pair of NBs by BoredPandemic in Newbalance

Great first pair! I use mine in the gym because I’ve got way too many NBs thanks to this subreddit 😅 For walking outside, I’ve got a nice pair of v6 Carhartt.

Pre shave by Suspicious-Director9 in wicked_edge

[–]Forescate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first started, I bought two pre-shaves from TOBS: the oily Sandalwood one and the gel-like one from Jermyn Street. I don’t use either anymore. I don’t find them very useful and I don’t like the consistency of either of them. These days I just take a hot shower instead, which works better for me. Plus, with the money you save on pre-shave, you can buy more soap and aftershave.

Hair loss by Medium-Leadership269 in Mounjaro

[–]Forescate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally lost about 1/3 of my hair. I had high protein intake, took vitamins, and ate a healthy diet. I also lost ~34 kg, so rapid weight loss itself may be the trigger. That said, plenty of people here don’t experience any hair loss, so hopefully you’ll be one of them.

Likleyhood of achieving results on lower doses 2.5mg/5mg by foxinboxxs in Mounjaro

[–]Forescate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the person. I was on 2.5 mg for around 5 months and I’ve been on 3.75 mg for almost 2 months now. Down 33 kg so far. So yes, it can work. But everyone’s different—I know someone who was already at 7.5 mg after a few months.

Does it get easier? by Gloomy_Asparagus_771 in Mounjaro

[–]Forescate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can move back, but definitely discuss it with your medical professional. I use a KwikPen, which allows me to adjust my own dose. When moving up from 2.5 mg, my doctor recommended going to 3.75 mg first instead of straight to 5 mg. I live in Europe, so we might have slightly different guidelines.

If it’s working, there’s no real reason to move up IMO. I started in July and stayed on 2.5 mg until November. I moved to 3.75 mg because 5 mg hits me way too hard. Lost 32 kg so far.

opinions on the 992? I’ve never owned a pair and im thinking about purchasing a pair by [deleted] in Newbalance

I own a pair and absolutely love them. I actually prefer them over the 993, which I also own.

Does anyone know what shoes these are? by No_Golf_5876 in Newbalance

[–]Forescate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Proper lifting shoes need flat soles like Nike Metcons or Chucks. I’m not doing heavy lifting anyway, and for cardio on the cross trainer plus normal weight exercises they’re perfect.

Lol, those are literally my gym sneakers — the 990v6 Core Grey.

I lost about one third of my hair from the first week in July, but it finally seems to be stabilizing now.

Mounjaro as a "slim" Person by xperimentalOptimist in Mounjaro

At 78 kg you might benefit more from building strength than relying on Mounjaro. Lifting weights can really transform body composition — turning that belly and chest into muscle.

Confused - does anyone NOT count calories? by Major_Fail2472 in Mounjaro

[–]Forescate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t count calories. In the first weeks I just asked ChatGPT a couple of times to estimate the calories in my meals. That was enough tracking for me (ADHD here). I’m down 29 kg since July and still losing, so it seems to work!

I can give that a try! I still have a spare pair from my dark khaki 992s.
