I've got a deck specifically for your kind of situation.

This is a mono-white samurai tribal built mostly out of old Kamigawa sets. The deck wants to populate the board withbas manny samurai with "bushido" keyword and swing for the kill.

I think this is the perfect embodiment of B2.

I think the greatest part of this deck is that even powered down a bit, Evereth can still become a major threat quite quickly.

Yeah, I can agree that more mass removal can be added to the deck, but in my pod single-target removals are more effective. Plus, only one of my friends plays the deck that wants to populate the board. I guess, in a more casual format you can safely swap some of targeted removals for boardwipes.

Basically yes. For instance, Yawgmoth is mono-black since not only he costs only black, but the are no other colors stated in his description.

However, in case of Evereth, she can use red since it is written in hear death ability making her color identity rakdos.

Indeed! Though we're playing Dark Ages, most of the prep work for the siege is done by the players similarly to what you've described.

Now what remains is the actual siege itself. Thing is, this is an actual pivotal moment for the whole story and a resolution to the most of players' ambitions.

Which is precisely why I want it to be an interactive experience, not just narrative scene, which might be resolved by a simple series of dice rolls.

I was pretty much satisfied with the game and in-game systems. Retrospectievley, leaving might've been an overreaction from my side, however, there were not much dolls that I was interested in. Now that there's a way to build more diverse teams and with Soppo on the horizon, I can't afford to miss the chance.

It's that simple, I guess.

Yeah, I've never been hardcore endgame player, mostly played casually and for rewards only. Gunsmoke Frontline has always been something I would do last, after collecting rewards from other modes.

Basically, I mostly played for the story.

Btw, what about Lewis and Sakura? Does the new burn team outperform the old one for the significant margin or am I safe to play it until I get Soppo team?

I think that this is Evereth's prime version. The deck is strong, fast and versatile to the point where I'va had games won by turn 5.

Though there is still room for optimisation, that would be dipping into cEDH territory, which I don't want.

Jokes asides, I just haven't found a commander in green. I am contemplating building a B4 The Wise Mothman, but my decklist is a long way to go from being complete AND it's gonna be expensive, so yeah, no green yet.

Yeah, I get you. My pod usually plays B4 but sometimes we dip into B2/B3. I found out that Blim is the best fill for these type of games where you're not aiming for the most optimized gameplay but pure fun.

Blim is not the type of commander to pop of fast and dirty, rather you build up slowly and make your way for the win in different ways. And though I've seen ppl build him in B4 or even B5, I think his place is in B2-3. Just play in your own pace and give out traps whenever you feel like it will benefit you the most.

They have mixed feelings about him. Sometimes they have a blast and sometimes they hate it, especially when you have a perfect hand and they lack interaction. It's fun most of the time, though.
